What exercise have you done today?

Today is my day to vent, apparently. I am so very sad that I am still unable to squeeze in time to get to the gym or pool. I have a free membership but there are limited hours that come with that, so I don't have the luxury of going at night, which I would do. Ok, venting is over.

20 minutes on the Spin Bike. I think I'll call it that from now on. I've been averaging about 80 rpm's which apparently is a bit slow for spinning but it feels fast to me.

Then a short 1/2 mile walk on the nature trail.

I played with the golden retriever down the street during my walk. He was so cute.😍🐶
I’m sure the golden retriever loved the attention. We walk our dogs every day. I walk every second day now due to reasons I’ve rather not explain. All dogs are cute. It’s in their nature. 💕

Today was my weekly “day off” from hiking and biking. Touching up and repainting house trim from hail damage last summer. Hail bounced right off the clay tile roof, but chipped the trim paint below. Worst hail storm in the three decades I have lived here. Anyway, worked harder at painting than my daily exercise. Up on a ladder in 90 degree heat for three hours. Some day off!

I'm glad you said that. I've been feeling like a wimp for only doing 20 minutes. It is torture to me too. And when I first get off the bike my legs are so rubbery I stumble like a drunk.
I found that too when I first got the spin bike. What solved it for me was adjusting the bike to the right height settings for me as, if it's not, your posture can cause problems. Also stretch exercises before and after using the bike is really helpful. I also use the set exercises on the screen and adjust the difficulty levels so, you can use the spin bike longer but on lower settings and then increase the settings as you get stronger.

Here are some YouTube links but there are lots of different ones on there.

It's so blinking hot here, I actually went to the mall to do my walking. Three vigorous loops around the top level and three around the bottom level and then another leisurely one around both levels to do some looking.

I've been looking for a longish button up mens-style white shirt in a linen or cotton material. I found two....one for $178 and the other for $198......uh, no. Not paying that price for something I'll probably drop spaghetti sauce on the third time I wear it.

Finally found one in a soft cotton with a sort of puckered finish that I loved and it was on sale. Still more than I was happy about but I love it!

I walk every morn with the dog probably 1-2 acres of woodland and should walk more but don't but recently noticed an extra vigor in my gait - I walk with two sticks incidentally - I think a change in mental status is affecting the walk in a positive way? - let's hope its sustainable? - morn is easy its still chilly but evenings will be different and definitely warmer? temps 20-35C [C>x9/5 +32 >F]

Same thing I do every morning. I start with hip rotation stretches, do deep breathing chest heaves, a couple of Tai Chi moves using my own mantra, floor leg and ab pilates, then yoga stretches that include tunnel syndrome relief in ankles, elbows, and wrist. Standing, I do high leg lifts in place, several minutes of the twist, then finish with side leg lifts.

Later in the day, at least a 3 mile rural walk.

None really...except for walking around the streets today where they had a Big Street Food Fest on.... then we walked around the garden centre... not very much walking really.

I tell you what tho'.. just lately I've found that regardless of how little I walk, my heels.. absolutely hurt like crazy.. really sore, almost as if I've walked 10 miles.. I wonder if I'm getting arthritis in my heels as well.. *ugh*

Plantar faciitis affects the area around the heel and arch of the foot. I have a friend who has it. She tried wearing an arch support but said it made it worse. She uses a soft plastic spiked ball which she rolls under her feet and it works like a massage which, apparently, helps.

No..I've had PF, OMG that was pretty horrendous... I know what that feels like, I literally could not stand when I had that. I got it after spending 10 hours a day on Studio concrete floors, for years .. no this is different.. this is my heels only.. and ..only after I've been walking, and sat down for a while, and when I go to stand up again, it's reallly... painful .. but literally only in my heels..
