I thought about those digital photo frames for myself. Let us know how you like it after you set it up.
That would be the kind I would want. Not connected to the internet. Thank you for the fast reply!
It's taken me a while to get back to you. I've been working with the frame, there were some unexpected issues that came up. My final assessment is that I
DO like the frame. It does what I wanted it to do. Once it is set up (I used a flash drive), it doesn't need internet to use it. Just plug it in, and it starts up.
* Most importantly, it was very easy to set up and to use....at least for what I intended it for. It can actually to all kinds of things that I don't need for my Mom, so I didn't even get into that stuff.
* My main issue was with the fact that it is "landscape only", portrait is no an option. Meaning that the frame sits horizontally.
There are very easy adjustments in the settings as to aspect ratio, so the pictures do look right, regardless of which direction they were taken.
I bought the 7 inch frame, so any portrait pictures look a little small. When the picture would allow, I cropped some of the portrait pictures, to make them shorter. This has worked well. It's more time consuming, but I enjoy doing it.
Here is an example:

My final assessment is that I'm happy with this item. I think my Mom will enjoy it. Now, I just need to find pictures of her old friends, but that's a completely different challenge!
