What have you bought recently?

Bought two pairs of jeans for DH and a pair of shorts today. He’d say to wait until it’s the season to wear something and I keep trying to explain to him that his sizes are sold out when the season does arrive.
For me, a pair of shoes for a wedding in the fall. They’re in the kid’s department, so not as comfy as leather. I’ll wear them around the house and see if I can deal with them. It’s just one afternoon and they were only $12.

Yeah, I found a perfect tree but I am not sure how I will make it stand. My florist friend suggested using the stuff florists poke flowers into. What I found isn't the whole tree but a small piece of a tree shaped like a flat tree. I think it will work well.

At a dollar store, I found multicolored luminous pinwheels that are kind of like a rainbow. I am excited about putting everything together and seeing if it works. I have to wait until the mail arrives sometime today. Sometimes it is hard to wait.

Yay @StarSong. We're rich (for a day anyway). Hope your Rocking Chair Money is enough to cover that 40% increase in supplies!

I'm off to buy cash and spend money 💸 💸
Sad to say, if I can't find a substitute I'll have pass the increase along to our (wholesale) customer, who'll then pass it along to their (retail) customers.

I love my work, but our small business is neither a hobby nor a charity. When our costs go up, so do our prices. When we raise our prices, our customers do so in lockstep. Unfortunately, those new prices are nearly always further inflated by profit margin percentages.

Gross profits are usually calculated as a percentage of direct costs.) Our business does not do this because we calculate our profits as a set dollar amount per unit, but we're in the minority. Our customer DOES calculate their profits by percentages though.

Anyone who imagines a country's consumers don't ultimately pay every dime of import tariffs (and then some) needs to remember that businesses' raison d'être is to earn money, not lose it.

Buy What did I buy? Cash at the credit union.. A buncha boring stuff at Walmart. And then there was the garden center. I bought stuff at the garden center. Lotsa stuff. I left enuf stuff for others, though.

I still have $$ left, but it's four weeks until the 🦅:poop: again so I have to spend slower. (I don't count pension money day on the first.)

I overspent. I found 2 original pastels in original frames by a listed artist from the Hudson River School at my favorite art dealer and I bought them. They are 12"x32" each. and beautiful. They will be delivered Monday.
Landscape paintings by artists associated with the Hudson River School are particularly significant because of the School's deep associations with the American conservation movement. Before the 1820s, American artists painted portraits and documentary works depicting important historical events.
These were done in 1870 are original and in original frames. I cannot wait for them to arrive!

I rcv'd my Walmart Cannon printer yesterday. Free shipping was over $35. Was looking at last years' HP printer, happened that the ink toner needed for it was on sale. The old toner was still usable, so I ordered both HP toner cartridges for $30 total, I now have 2 printers, 1 new still packaged & 1 old HP with new cartridges. I hope the new HP cartridges will still be fresh next year, I have a needless backup, new never used Cannon printer.

Patience would have been a better virtue with this transaction. The other thing bought were wiper blades for our auto @ $30+. Living in the NW & the amount of rain & hot/dry summers require new blades almost annually.

Farms just 2 to 5 miles from here are putting these out now:

Ducks eggs have doubled in price there since that photo but chicken and turkey are still the same. Put your cash in the box or pay by Venmo, take your eggs from the cooler.
what's Venmo ? this is my nearest farmhouse, with an honesty box. They sell eggs and honey.... cash only
