What have you bought recently?

After some fits and starts with new sneakers, I wound up with three pairs I like that fit well. Will return the pair today that I didn't like and am throwing away all my old sneakers.

When I walked into Costco yesterday wearing the red ones, the lady working the door said, "Ooh! Nice sneakers!"

Since getting these sneakers about a week ago I believe I've fielded more compliments on them than on any shoes I've owned. Ever.

It might be because people don't expect a woman in her 70s to be wearing fun, kicky kicks, but even so....

When lunching with my GFs on Monday, one of them said to me, "Starry, I can't help it - every time I look at your (red) sneakers I just have to smile. Not many could pull them off, but you sure can!" When I went for another treadmill test on Thursday, the two RNs running the test complimented them and asked about the brand and if they were comfortable. The who set me up for the CT scan said, "Whoa - nice shoes!"

They really are adorable and comfortable.

I bought several different ounces of washed, carded wool for spinning. I bought 4 larger amounts of Heritage wool for the best spinning ever, all from England and Scotland and all in natural sheep colors. So today I spun a half bobbin of Hartwick wool in medium grey and what a joy!! When I get my camera figured out for JPEG I'll post some pics.
