PP, I must hastily add that in some instances intervention is necessary, e.g. somebody had to stop Hitler! But that's one of the exceptions! I hate all those political interventions. The "domino theory" comes to mind, where thousands gave their lives for nothing because of the miscalculations on the part of their leaders, or all the mini wars started since then! I despise violence myself, my family having been its victims ourselves! My post was meant as satire!

I just started watching episode 1 of the second season. That is a show I wasn't sure I'd keep watching at first, but I liked the characters who are played by actors I'd never seen before, except one.

Re: our mutual online friend that I referred to in reply #62...I've been meaning to call him. I last time I called him had to be before the end of April, because no calls to him are shown in my new phone. It was my intention to call him at least once a month, so he wouldn't think he's forgotten. With me sleeping off and on during the daytime hours now, then doing what needs to be done in between those naps and trying to be conscious of his meal times, it becomes a deterrent. :cautious:

This is true. That’s why I said it’s an essential part of our reality but that still doesn’t mean I have to like it. Some people would enjoy watching murderers hung. I’m not one of them.

I could never understand that either! In medieval times people gathering around stocks, mocking the offenders. Or worse yet, cheering on people being beheaded by a guillotine, or witches being burned! That's why I always say our biggest defense against mob rule is a society based on law and order ... peacefully enforced, that is! That's why I fervently believe in Canada's, "boring" to some, motto:

"Peace, order and good government"
"Paix, ordre et bon gouvernement"

Covid convinced me, however, that peace can be a fragile thing, even in Canada!

What about med evil times where they’d sit and eat & drink in a huge coliseum watching people getting quarter horsed. Charming! Right?

I appreciate that we are a peaceful country who only believes in using violence as an absolute last resort.

You want to talk peace, the Russians surrendered. To bad they can't play Ukraine Today. Russia would surrender again, so would China and NK + Iran. All would just give up to peaceful pursuit of Happy Nutz.

In various big cities where I have lived and worked, I grew to like so many Asians, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and other people from Spanish speaking countries. I usually find them more friendly, peaceful, & respectful, than a lot of those unfriendly, unpatriotic, freedom for all hating fellow Americans that I have met over the years.

The LEGAL ones are pretty decent folks. The illegal ones are destroying whole neighborhoods and harassing people, especially women, here. Our small town now has gangs for the first time, and all of them speak spanish.

Where I am they are just as likely to speak Russian or Urdu or English. Neighbors have reported young Russians evading the draft assaulting old Ukrainians.
 
Well, from what astronomers have been able to detect, Proxima B is the closest possible habitable planet. If we took one of our fastest probes to the planet, New Horizons, which is currently traveling about 36,000 miles per hour, it would take well over 26 million years to reach that destination, that is unless they could travel at the speed of light, which according to Einstein's special relativity is physically impossible. So I'm guessing they are not here, unless they started that long ago and packed lots of fuel and 26 million freeze dried meals.
 
I can imagine beings from far away existing on our planet. If they were able to travel the "distances" needed ( in our perception/knowledge of space /time ) they are very advanced in physics. They can probably "cloak" themselves and stay invisible and undetectable , but they are among us. Maybe. :alien:

I am so sorry to hear that, @oldaunt I truly had no idea. I have been defending migrants all along because our experience has been so positive. Whare is your police force in all this?

I will always defend LEGAL migrants. They earned the right to be here, but illegals who come in and take over whole neighborhoods, no way. Our police? Small town, not that many of them and they simply can't keep up. One has already been killed.

I am so, so sorry! Obviously I lead a sheltered life. I could never have imagined that illegal migrants could be so threatening! That's the stuff of movies like Death Wish, not real life! I would have thought they would be very unobtrusive because they don't want to be caught and deported! Your populace should cry out for a larger police presence! I don't understand how your town, county, state could put up with this kind of lawlessness??? Is there nothing that could be done? Phone calls to your representative, petitions, protests ... anything! I don't even know you but you are in my thoughts and prayers from now on. No one should have to live like that!
 
We just need to solve the 2way Holodeck/Hologram experience, then send the Hologram speed of light to whare ever, say 20 years while it remains in constant communication using its super light speed Qubit Entanglements talky thingy. Then we get answers, go where no hologram has gone before. Explore the Galaxy, it leaves a bot factory to remain in contact and moves to the next system all the time in constant communications. Million years from now we can know stuff. Everyplace it visits it sets up a bot factory. Name it V-GER ,,,haha There will be many Bot Planets to TAX too. ....................................... The ENTANGELMENT TAX ...... V-GER grows to with its Entanglements Knowledge Enhancements becoming faster. Then theres One Day V-GER realized it didn't need us anymore! haha Having been designed to be Immortal V-GER realized he isn't having a good time so once again we are at the "Rule." Ya got to have a good time a lot.

If you look at life on earth you see its a Life Factory. Many species spend most of their time conceiving births, laying eggs etc. Look to the Birds, Bees and Ants for answers. The Oceans would teem with life if it was let be.

Some of our Cities actually have Like, "Tank Stop" traps on the streets. You know those cement barriers like used to divide lanes. Only in the lanes.
I was on Broadway in ST. Louis a couple years ago. Mid-Day driving. Never again would I repeat that drive. Saw lots of stuff, Water treatment plant, Bus Terminal, Mississippi Rapids, old Rt. 66 Bridge full of old cars you know the Cement Barriers that sort of stuff. Didn't find no Aliens too. Though the City seems Far Far Away! You know I just realized I avoid Downtowns of Cities. Mmmm, I like it!

I would say yes, you are sheltered. They don't GET deported any more. It has made them bold.
 
Of Course, quantum entanglement proves we are Aliens. Why did a huge herd of Buffalo follow one Cow? Why do a huge group of people tend to follow the same direction and decision. Why a bird flocks together, whales swim in the same Pod. Fish in a school everywhere. Why kids follow each other in a straight line unconsciously even on their Cell phones. Two teams lined up against each other but still going in the same direction. The point being most all things march forward in time in the same dirrection. If you check out all the dirrections available to go in. Why do so many billion choose to follow a dictator, king, one supreme leader instead of a huge Group of choices. Why is our Chaos always trying to just choose one choice.
