You are so right, we are supposed to be the employers, government "for" the people, by the people, something like that, or so I thought.

Many years ago, (1962 to be exact) I took a course in government at my teachers' college. We spent 1/3 of the year on the American Revolution and the government system that resulted from it. One thing I remember very well was that the writers of the Constitution were very careful to give neither the President, nor the Congress, too much power. Each has well defined powers but neither has absolute power. Having rid themselves of a king they did not want to pave the way for a dictator nor a tyrannical government. The way it was described was "built in checks and balances".I would have believed "for a second or so" that congress had all the power, this proves it doesn't. Yeah, he has some power, fortunately the people still have it, if they all would stand up and claim it, just my thoughts.
