Sniper: Ultimate Kill

On Netflix, about an hour and a half. Fast moving adventure of a sniper and the DEA. Liked it a lot 😃
 

Thank you, I'm sorry. Netflix about an hour and a half long. About two sister's relationship through hard times. I liked it a lot. It is an award winner.

Apparently Brad cooper spent 6 years studying that 6 minute, 21 second composition he conducted. That part was filmed LIVE! That really WAS the London Symphony Orchestra and he really IS an accomplished musician. All the piano playing was really him.

Another movie directed by him where he shows off his musical talent is called A Star IS BORN and it features Lady Gaga. It’s actually a modern musical but so well done. I highly suggest watching it

The 6-minute segment was the finale of Mahler's Second Symphony, the "Resurrection" symphony. I know this because I once sang in a chorus that performed it. The words (in German) basically mean,"I won't die. I will rise again." Mahler refused to accept the concept of death.

But the music is anything but depressing. It is inspiring and uplifting, and I loved the way it was performed in the movie. I read somewhere that Bradley Cooper really conducted an orchestra for that segment, but afterwards, they dubbed in another orchestra playing it, which was a little better musically. It certainly looked like he was conducting!

I've been a Star Wars fan from the very first one that came out way back when, so I thought I'd enjoy this movie. Not so much. I didn't finish it. I was disappointed. :(
 
I love Classic movies from the 40's/50's. I watched Old Acquaintance (1943)with Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins. It was interesting how these two women in the movie were best friends but in real life, Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins hated each other. I've watched this many times and I think The Women is tonight's feature :)

Yes you’re right Sunny. I just looked that up again and you are spot on. It was a great movie. The man was certainly eccentric and flamboyant. Cooper did really train for 6 years to play the part conducting. I personally loved the facial expressions. It was an interesting movie.

I'm watching "The China Syndrome" with Jane Fonda.
This was a very good movie, free on Tubi's Live TV on Cinevault.
After that I watched "I Walk The Line" with Tuesday Weld and Gregory Peck.
This movie was interesting too, and was free on Tubi's movie search.

New Years day evening watched online for free on Youtube, 2010: The Year We Make Contact. Somehow missed this follow up science fiction movie that was nicely entertaining.

Slipping a bit, caught another Film Noir starring Lloyd Bridges, titled 'Trapped' 1949.
He plays a gangster who escapes the Feds to get his 'Plates' back.
Way before he starred in 'Sea Hunt' and 'Flipper'.
Hard to see him as a gangster, but he does a good job in this movie.
Recorded it. It's a keeper for my collection.

 
Late last night and sleepy, watched a 2001 Disney movie, Princess of Thieve an adventure romantic fictional tale about Robin Hood's daughter. Stars she with a beautiful young kissy face, Keira Knightley at teenage 17. Actually well done with wonderful English oak forest countryside, castle sets, and people dressed in period costumes.

Horizon, a British SciFi film (on Roku channel). I will finish the last 20 minutes tonight. It's a B movie for sure, but it held my interest. I couldn't find a trailer for it.
@birdy I saw Love Actually years ago and enjoyed it too, but I would have liked it better if they'd left out the cursing.
 
His House, on Netflix. It is several genres in one. It is horror and there are scary moments. It is current history, about warring amongst themselves Sudanese. It has elements of mystery. It is artful. It was only an hour & a half!!!!!!! I really enjoyed it.

I loved Crash Landing on You. Subtitles tho. South Korea/North Korea. Love story.

Since hubby passed away in October, I've been watching a lot of comic book movies, like Captain America, Thor, Avengers, Superman (the new version), and last night it was Justice League. Hubby loved all things Star Wars, Mandalorian, etc., but never cared for the comic book movies. Not sure why I like them so much but I'm enjoying them very much :)

I also watched The Red Sea Diving Resort. It's a true story about a group of people that smuggled Ethiopian Jews out of Sudan in 1979. Excellent movie.
