What's for dinner ( or lunch )

Meals on wheels, yes. Seniors in Florida are well looked after. The pies we had were Marie Calandars frozen pies and were very good .

It's only Shepherds pie if it's made with Lamb ( shepherds you see..)... and Cottage pie is made with Beef... so many people get them confused

Well pointed out.

Today I'm cooking a side of salmon with a feta, pine nut and herb crust - a recipe from 'Country living' magazine. There was some debate as to whether we should have roast potatoes or new potatoes from our garden. Roast potatoes won.

Tonight I had Toad-in-the hole... beef gravy..and butter beans and peas..

I'd like it, @Supernatural . I may run into a problem finding ground lamb here, though... it's simply not available and I can only get any kind of lamb around Easter... usually chops or leg. Won't stop me from trying to find it, though. I already know that if I'd try to substitute another kind of meat, you'd pinch me 'cause it has to be lamb. Accurate? 🤭
Oh so sorry to hear that! Yes, in order to be enjoyable it has to be lamb.

Maybe you should try, depending on where you are, maybe some butchers might do it. Otherwise, try online, Amazon has loads of groceries, you might be lucky and find some.

I find the majority of ready meals contain Peas... I hate peas, they use them as a cheap filler... I rarely buy ready meals.. they give me serious heartburn

Meals on wheels is available here in the UK for seniors and the disabled too.. have been for decades...
Only Peas can't get enough of are found in my homemade Pea and Ham soup.

@hollydolly you might have the same problems as my daughter, she doesn't like the ones in the tin which include month. That gave us heartburn too!

I go for petit pois and usually mush them with my electric wand, then add butter, onion powder, s&p to taste and a splash of yoghurt. Yummy!

Lunch was leftover lasagna with Watermelon slice for dessert.

Dinner, fresh Chicken Wings, copying a sauce bought often while in Canada. Chinese sauce made from Treacle and Garlic. In the oven for half an hour. Oh so sticky and good.

Soya sauce, butter and spices on top of fluffy white rice.

Probably, will have strawberry and cream, ice cream for dessert.

I’m going to be having the first corn on the cob, super sweet, and new potatoes, for supper.
From farmers market…..where I got these from…..they set up at the Canadian Tire parking lot…. have been buying from them for many years…..and these same ones have been selling there for many, many years.
Got a dozen cobs, will last me for 3 meals…..then I will go back for more.

I had an Elderflower martini 🍸, followed by fall-off-the bone baby back ribs, corn on the cob, scalloped tomatoes 🍅, and a yellow string bean salad with cucumber, onion, and fresh basil and mint. 🌿 Coming up: vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl.

I've seen Marie Callender meals at Costco and the supermarket, but never saw the shepherd's pie....interesting.

For lunch I had half a tuna salad sandwich on wheat and a few potato chips. Dinner will be quick. I'm going to heat up the bean soup my son made with a little BBQ sauce added. Well, actually he calls it "just beans" but I like it better than what he calls bean soup. The difference is that he adds fresh vegetables pureed in the food processor to the bean soup.

Diva. We find the Shepherds pies in the frozen pot pies section here.

Brunch omelette at 11:30am , we was peckish lol!

Dinner at 19:30. Rump steaks melting in your mouth like butter (from Aldi's ). Grilled to perfection, rare for me, medium rare for daughter. Steamed broccoli with butter sauce, thin chips and creamy pepper gravy. Brownies freshly baked for dessert (the latter were from mix at Morrisons/we both looked at each other and said: Where's the chocolate? Absolutely tasteless, back to Lidl's own brand at least it's sweet, chocolatey and gooey.) Sorry Morrisons but that's bad brownies. Seriously!

Washed down with ice cold glass of cider. Lidl's own...

I made potato salad and a pot of pinto beans last night. I will bake some smoked sausage and cornbread to go with it tonight.

I have been having a craving for a pineapple sheet cake with cream cheese frosting. This is a make from scratch recipe, have to stand a while to get it done. My replaced hip is acting up so I don't know if I will get it done tonight.

Right this minute I've got chicken baking in the AF..... and I've already cooked the Broccoli and that's waiting for the chicken to be ready... and I'm about to try frozen mashed potato for the first time. When the chicken is done and resting..I'll put the frozen mash in the Microwave.. for 3 minutes.. and we'll see how that tastes ..

Anyone else had it before ? what do you think ?

Had an early dinner today, Stir fried vegetables, haddock, soya sauce and noodles. Very nice (y)
