What's for dinner ( or lunch )

I am going to make fish and chips for dinner. Mum always made chips in a chip pan which had a chip basket inside so when they were cooked she could raise the basket and drain off the oil. They were lovely chips but, I prefer them in the air fryer. Does anyone still cook chips in a pan of oil (other than the chip shops of course!)?

Well, I am not sure, doing a cook up for a few days. I have boiled shrimp and homemade cocktail sauce. I have little red and gold potatoes boiling. Pulled 2lbs of chicken breast out of the oven. Bacon is in the oven now and made pancake batter, waiting on the skillet to heat. Have fresh asparguas to roast and yellow squash with onion going in another pan. Better to cook a variey of choices and not have to cook or clean up the kitchen for a few days!

Now come on Ms. Diva, surely you have cooked for a few days of meals. I live alone but I know you must make things available for dear son. I often just feel so bad it is hard to cook. Days I feel good are cooking for the next few days, catching up on laundry and cleaning the house. Just doing that takes so much stress away. The laundry and cleaning the house can wait but we all need to eat. I always feel better with protein and fresh veggies. (Shush......no one needs to not about my sweet tooth)

Steamed fish with vegetables and piccalilli pickles. I have made a fresh fruit salad - mango, nectarine, raspberries and pineapple for later. :)
Had to look up those piccalilli pickles.
They sound good.

I make pickled vegs, cauliflower, celery, carrots and cabbage....but there is no mustard or tumeric added.
I learned something new.

That's good :) I haven't made it myself but there are lots of recipes online, I usually buy it. There is a sweet piccalilli but we prefer the mustard one. It's nice with fish but also with cheese and crackers or in a cheese sandwich. Let me know how it goes if you make it (y)

Did a few bits today. Omelet for lunch. Ready-Meals in a bag from Iceland, Paella with Chicken, Prawns and Chorizo for dinner. Dessert Brownies.

Watched this video, this aft

Then "Olympus Has Fallen" with Gerard Butler, currently it's Percy Jackson one and two.

Pot of tea, PG Tips later on.

Tonight I had Home made bacon/chicken/Lentil, carrot & bean soup... and I did something I never do.. I cooked some chips( French fries).. in the Air fryer and had them after I had my soup.

I'm not really a big Chip eater.. a bag of frozen chips will probably last me a year...but I just fancied some tonight... then... I had a slice of Raspberry coconut cake with strawberries and fresh cream... yuummmmy... :p
