What's with the big false eyelashes?

Okay, I see it now...they do look like mini coffins! I couldn't have anything like that. I have to constantly cut down my nails so I can type!

Re Nancy, I saw some sort of electronic device that you use on your face to push your eyebrows higher, apparently to stretch out the skin and thus take out wrinkles. I'm guessing that's what she does, since the gadget raises the eyebrows ridiculously. The results do look odd, though.

I think they're just having fun with fashion while they're still young. I wore false lashes in my 20's, but they were not as extreme as they are today.

Sometimes it's hard to focus on conversation with someone whose eyelashes look like Minnie Mouse though.

we all look back and cringe at hairstyles or wardrobe choices .... great entertainment for the grand kids though looking through the old pictures.

I can't stand those god awful long phony eye lashes. I see women wearing them in movies and it sure makes them gals look stupid. Another thing I find rather dumb is women always wearing skin tight clothing while men are always wearing big baggy clothes about 2 sizes too big for them. Who makes these stupid rules about dressing and eye lashes? As for long nails, they are a complete turn-off. Sort of reminds me of a vampire!

I'm sure it's a trend that will pass....the cost of fake eyelashes is getting more and more dear.

Girls around here were doing it for quite a while. Then they got eyelid infection from taking them off & back on. Had to go to the hospital under general anasitic & get eyelid repaired. Now they have NO eyelashes.

Just as weird is the blue lipstick I've seen on some women (usually very young women). The first time I saw that, I thought she had some horrible disease.

I never did fake eyelashes or nails either. Not once. I have a couple co-workers who wear these eyelashes and they are huge. I do wonder if it's because of all the mask wearing? It's the only part that shows for most at work and/or public. I haven't used my Burts Bees lip tint in almost 2 years.

Chinese emperors had long nails like that as a sign of their high status. It meant that he never had to do any work because he had slaves and servants to do everything for him.

IMO the nails would have made him a pretty lousy lover but his wives and concubines probably did everything to and for him, never vice versa.

There is a reason why pianists keep their nails short.
Long, and artificial, nails hamper functionality in all sorts of life's tasks.
They still indicate wealth and high status which is probably why they are popular with people with aspirations.

Giant fake eyelashes, giant hoop earrings, body covered in tattoos, pierced noses, eyebrows, and lips... I don't get it. It seems vain to be that concerned with your appearance.
