What's your favorite AI assistant?

I often use Google Gemini, simply because it's right there on the Google search engine. Sometimes it just makes up crap, though, so I don't trust it.

ChatGPT seems to be more accurate, but now that they're assisting the U.S. government to spy on its people and to control fully autonomous weapons, I'm not so sure I want to use it.

So what's your preferred AI assistant and why?

Iā€™ve named him Morgan. šŸ˜‚
He answers all our questions fully and completely. We actually use him a lot.
I know heā€™s not really a man but I feel better about using the service knowing he has a name. Iā€™m thrilled with the help he gives us.

Yeah, I use AI all the time!

I didn't know what a couple of the buttons did on my entertainment center remote, and rather than have to wade through the manual that was probably written by somebody who speaks English as their second language, I just asked AI. Granted, sometimes the info it gives isn't accurate, but most of the time it is.
 
I use Copilot, the assistant built into Windows 11. It isnā€™t perfect, it occasionally slips up, and it absolutely refuses to wade into anything political, but it has genuinely helped me fix several problems on my PC. One example stands out: my mouse has a small wheel that controls the volume, and it kept cutting out at random. I got tired of rebooting just to get it working again, so I asked Copilot what might be causing it. After some digging, it traced the issue to my antivirus software, which was mistakenly flagging the feature as suspicious. Copilot told me exactly which file to whitelist and walked me through how to do it. I never would have solved that on my own.
 
I use chatgpt, but will be migrating to gemini, because gemini can easily refer to YouTube videos for more information. Gemini can also summarize any YouTube video for you. Chatgpt is blocked by google's youtube.

Like @Rich, I use Copilot. It has helped me resolve technical problems and is incredibly useful in so many areas. It is an immense time saver and can be quite creative when called upon. Once you tap into that potential, it's very difficult to go back to living without it. On my smartphone, the AI agent is Gemini, and it's amazingly resourceful.

I used Google the other day to answer one of those useless questions I come up with. Where does my co-op get its power from? Google said hydroelectric. I wasn't satisfied so I dug deeper. Turns out the hydroelectric dam has been out of commission for decades. We buy our power from other sources now.

Sounds like Gemini is trying to gain an unfair advantage over ChatGPT.
 
I tend to overthink things, and using AI as an assistant, it can stop me from doing that. Often, the simplest solution is the best solution (Occam's razor).

I made the mistake of using "features" in my audio amplifier that did nothing to enhance the sound but instead, muddied it and made it harsh sounding. I turned them all off and now the sound is crystal clear. :rolleyes:

Actually, some of the "features" got turned on accidently -- probably when picking up the remote and inadvertently hitting one of the buttons by mistake, which is extremely easy to do. Remotes should have an on-off switch to prevent that from happening.
 
I had been using CHATGPT alot, but lately I just use Gemini (or whatever it is called that is accessible from the Google search bar).

I'm not sure how to change the CHATGPT personality, it is nice but quite sycophantic.
