White Supremacy rally

Rally: Waste of time (and tax money for expenses). No person white or of color is supreme.
Labeling certain people as vile, hateful, just inflames them. Not smart.

I think we need to call evil actions evil. Because they are. Silence communicates approval at best, weakness at worst.

IMO most of these events would fizzle out if the media stopped covering them, stopped helping them to spread their message and fan the flames of hate.

To me, the real danger is that the media coverage will be picked up by some kid in the heartland that will feel emboldened to join the cause and go on a killing spree.

Good point, Bea, and one which has been made by others. There was a letter to the editor the other day, suggesting that the media simply stay away and refuse to cover the rally. That's probably the best answer
to give to these people... just ignore them as much as possible.

But we all know that's not going to happen. The media love events like this.

Tomorrow, there will be another rally of these vile, hateful people, in D.C. This letter was written a year ago, but is even more true today.

"Tomorrow, there will be another rally of these vile, hateful people,"

So , is it wrong to hold a rally to support your own people?

What about homosexual rallies? or Antifa? or black lives matter? , how about the women's march of what two? years ago....when so many of them dressed-up like ******s......were they vile & hateful also.

I don't know enough about this particular group, but, let's be realistic. There is definitely a double standard in this country today. JMHO :(
As others have said, if the media would ignore these rally's, there might not be such hate in this country.

I've never heard Asians, gays or even most white peoples chanting "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US".

Honestly, you are wasting your time, they know exactly what those groups represent and it is nothing less than their own belief systems. Probably would have been best not to even respond to them. Like some said ignore their hate and the way they try to shade it. You know what they say, it walks, talks, acts, like a duck, believe it's a duck.

No, you cannot ignore their hate. That is the worst thing one can do. I guess you haven't had three great uncles died in Nazi concentration camps.

Every year there are parades and large groups that celebrate various groups of white pride. St Patrick's Day for Irish Americans, there are Italian day parades and many other organizations that celebrate their white pride in a positive light. No one ever tries to deny that such celebratory pride.

The major reason for many other groups, minority peoples, who celebrate these days is because they were for centuries and still to this day denigrated for their skin color, the slant of their eyes and many other reasons, so at some point these groups let everyone know, they don't subscribe to the rhetoric that's put out there about themselves nor should anyone else as they have much more positive to offer and are no less worthy of expressing dignity going about life with same standards of respect as anyone else, but, mainly, they want to make sure generations who follow will see their own faces of pride and not those faces that had often been plastered and portrayed in a negative light.

Ya know really...when ever there is a march / rally...it is not the marchers / rallier's that are the problem. It is the counter 'protesters' that cause trouble. If say a thousand people in agreement of an issue, any issue....are walking down the street? Where's the problem?...answer there is none. The problem arises when the people in opposition to the issue arrive.

So, if any group wants to amass & march for their cause?...let'em ! And ignore them .

Let's face it, if they are a 'horrible' group? They are not likely to entice anyone to sign-up anyway .

And as Aunt Bea & others have suggested...If the damn media would ignore that would the absolute best ! But they won't, it sells air time.

Ah, you miss understand my point, sometimes I'm too cryptic, I was not talking about the marchers out there. And for those who responded in the same tone, should know better to think I ignore hate, you've seen my other posting around here referring to such matters. Oh wait maybe not, they sometimes get erased.

However, I'm not going to argue the point, I understand way more than you may ever know. I just find it mute for me to have the conversation on this site with those who support the view of the neo nazi, white nationalist groups. Those are the ones I was speaking of ignoring as they too only just love the attention and spewing hateful views. Plus my post just get erased anyway.

I do understand your point, April. But there are just some things that have to be said. I never meant it to diss you at all.

Thank you for understanding, I really appreciate what you said, I was just feeling exasperated from what I knew would come from some supporters of the hate groups.

The White Supremicists are Nazis, pure and simple. Squatting Dog, I guess you don't really know much about this violent, ignorant group. They are very much like the Brown Shirts demonstrating in Germany in the 1930's, avidly
supporting Hitler. The current White Supremacists are even waving the same swastika flags!

This can in no way be equated with the Black Power or Gay Pride groups. Those are groups protesting against discrimination. The Supremacists want to PRACTICE discrimination, not end it!

I do think that as long as they are just parading and making their stupid Nazi speeches, they have to be allowed to do it under the protection of free speech. But I do wish the media would lighten up on giving them free
publicity.

Me neither and that is my point exactly. I keep remembering WWII. If people back could have stopped it by standing up for themselves, I believe they would have. The rest of us could learn from this.
