Darned rights it's expensive, and time consuming, too.I used to send out over a hundred Xmas cards. Some were to people I hadn't seen in 30 years., Then came E-cards. So I stopped sending actual cards. Somehow the E-cards just didn't make it, and it was becoming expensive to send a card to the people, who used to live next to me in 1978. I got out of the habit of sending Xmas cards.
That truly is the way to do it.With the exception of my daughters, I buy all my Christmas cards in the January Sales, they are really nice and a fraction of the original price
I not only do a bit of pertinent writing, but make my own cardsWhen writing your christmas cards do you just sign it 'love or best wishes from'... or do you write a message as well ?
Love the sweet puppy dog peeking out from under the sofa!I not only do a bit of pertinent writing, but make my own cards
Not hard to do
Choose a photo, or photoshopped pic (usually it's a pic of me, or me and my lady)
Take it over to Staples (or some place like Staples)
Have them print out the pic on half a page of thick paper with a mat finish
Fold the paper
Write something inside
Short, sweet, funny...all works
I only do a half dozen of these, and they all email their appreciation

Thank you for expressing exactly what I do.I haven't sent out Christmas cards in years. I don't know anyone who does it any more. What with the expense of cards themselves and the price of postage nowdays, and the fact that the cards are just going into the trash at the other end, it just seems pointless and wasteful.
I usually write Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but depending who it is, I may add a few more thoughts. When writing your christmas cards do you just sign it 'love or best wishes from'... or do you write a message as well ?
I tend to think the verse or words printed in the card says it all, maybe I'm just lazy !![]()
