Your favorite one line song lyric

College men from LSU
Went in dumb, come out dumb too

From Randy Newman's Rednecks. I was at LSU when it came out, wildly popular there and then.

A lot of what appears to be politically incorrect lyrics in the song, so I won't post a youtube thing. Interpreted correctly it is not meant to be what it sounds like to some folks.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum *
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

Joni would have been horrified to know that all these years later her lyrics would still have HUGE impact and truth

By Gordon Lightfoot.
There was a time in this fair land, when the railway did not run, and the dark grey mountains stood silent against the sun, and the green dark forests were too silent, to be real.

Rest in Peace, Gord Lightfoot, gone too soon, in 2023 at age 83. Canada lost a legend this year. Tears in my eyes. JImB.

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play? --Fiddler on the Roof

Once in khaki suits, gee, we looked swell
Full of that Yankee Doodly Dum
Half a million boots went slogging through Hell
And I was the kid with the drum --Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?
