Did you ever at times think it may be fixed?? ........to a degree?

30+ day champion has been quiet the last few days, not even ringing in on many questions, that his past performance would suggest he should? Very quiet tonight.

He is also famous for huge bets in the final....not tonight, small wager $1300+ and even with the correct answer....he lost out.

I have heard that viewers were tiring of seeing him win? I just wonder if there may be a connection?

Also read where the past big money champion had/has a larger following....and his winning amount was in ......jeopardy..pardon the pun.....so?

I used to watch it all the time and I enjoyed it,but I haven't watched it lately. Do they really think something is going on with the contestant ?

Links/sources??

You heard, you read??

Who are "they"??

No, I don't think it's fixed. Sounds like people who don't win the lottery..."must be fixed".

I have never been a fan of any game show, so, no, I do not watch Jeopardy. The fact that this guy is some kind of hot shot would not be a motivator for me to tune in. Fixed? Remember the quiz Show scandal back in the 50's? On the game 21? So, who knows. I do not think it would happen today...but you never know.

I am not a fan of Jeapardy, but this time I am in. No, I don't think it is fixed, and I love watching James win. Fascinating show!

I do watch this one. This evening, I was at a friend's house for our regular Monday night Scrabble game, but we all quit playing at 7:45 and went in the next room to see what was happening on TV. Surprising ending!

Watched it when it made a brief appearance on British TV in the eighties.Didn't appeal to the Brits for some reason.

Fixed? Jeopardy? Apparently conspiracy theorists can leave nothing alone. I never cared for the show, that much, after its first emcee, Art Fleming, left, many, many years ago. I used to watch it in college, when I got home from my janitorial shift.

We watch it just about every night, and Wheel of Fortune. I can only hope for the best for Alex and his fight with cancer.
Jame’s daughter made a get well card for Alex and you could see how he appreciated it.

I saw that & he did seem to be truly moved by it.

BTW, a news blurb the other day said he is showing remarkable improvement following the aggressive Chemo .
Hope he beats it !

That was touching.

James lost with grace. That's why his bet was small. He didn't want to lose by a dollar and handed the winner her victory instead of making it all about him. As a professional gambler, James knew his streak wouldn't last forever and handled himself so graciously. A fine young man. The final question was ridiculously easy, IMO.

Agree, i think it was fixed or he just was tired and wanted to go on a vacation.. who knows and I could care less.

I would love to watch Jeopardy. Over 25 years ago when we first got satellite TV, Jeopardy was brought to us for the first time in the UK ..... I loved it. However whether it was too expensive for the network to import..I don't know.. but after just a couple of seasons, it was withdrawn. I've missed it ever since.

lol.. I just don't understand how one person can have that much knowledge stored in their brain and recall it that quickly. I usually get 15 or so correct, if i could use Google faster I would get them all correct.
Obviously you DO care.

There is an article in today'sNEW York Times about Emma Boettcher who defeated James last night
She is a 27yr old librarian at Univ of Chicago, the first time she tried to get on was when she was in high school.
Her masters degree paper{70 pgs} was about her long time obsession with the show. She explored whether certain characteristics of the clues could predict the difficulty level
After her 4th in person audtion she was accepted that happened in March. She hadn't heard of James then, didn't know at the time he had already won 32 games His 1st win didn't air until April 4th
I wish her well Sue

Since he's donating a lot of his winnings to charity, the tax cut may not be as big as you think.
