Agree.Classy is as classy does. It seems to me that looks and fashion are pretty shallow criteria to judge a person by.
She's not as famous, but have you ever seen Gina Lollobrigida? If I were a man she would be my ideal woman beauty wise. She's 92 now.Sophia Loren, in her prime, was way up there.
From what I know, in life I admire Sandra Bullock.
Ever? Jacqueline Onassis.
In my youth I used to always get Gina and Sophia mixed up.. !!She's not as famous, but have you ever seen Gina Lollobrigida? If I were a man she would be my ideal woman beauty wise. She's 92 now.

@PVC, she was homely as an adult and as a mature woman. I was surprised when I saw a photo of her as a young woman!@Trade and @Geezerette --Eleanor Roosevelt was very intelligent, a very powerful woman before her time and her husband's right hand. She would get my vote for that. But, she was no beauty and not stylish, she's considered one of the homeliest first ladies.
I'm not sure if fuzzybuddy's definition of ''classy'' includes beauty and style, though.
She looks a bit like Jessica Amlee who plays Mallory on Heartland. A very unique kind of beauty. She has huge eyes and big pouty lips.@PVC, she was homely as an adult and as a mature woman. I was surprised when I saw a photo of her as a young woman!

I agree with you. Some celebrities and famous people can seem ''classy'' in public even if in private they're not as nice. I would never call the Kardashians or Miley Cyrus 'classy'' because they dress and act outlandishly. My favorite, Kate, could be a monster secretly but her public image is that of a beautiful and stylish and modest and well mannered woman. And, in a thread like this, it would be futile to mention people only we know in private since the other members can't agree or disagree, so must mention famous people. What's sorta funny is how people will say a certain celebrity is "classy" because she's pretty or dresses nice. Unless you know someone personally, you can't say whether or not they're classy. An actress is playing a role, so you can't say they're classy based on their experience or acting - not with any validity, anyway.
The same goes for people who talk about how happily married their friends are.....& after their divorce, they'll say, "I just don't understand it; they seemed so happy together." People have public & private sides & they're only showing their public side.
