Well, they're actually very entertaining & amusing. Laughter is the best medicine. This guy's apology made me laugh for hours: NO actor could have put on a better performance (though he should have practiced the crying a bit more):
 

My late brother-in-law used to love PTL. Liked my brother-in-law, didn't care for PTL. Some people can have odd quirks and still be nice.
 

Speakin'a Jim Baker......What ever became of Jessica Hahn ? You know the chick that said she was SO traumatized by what Baker & the other preachers...ahem... did to her. But yet she gave 3-4 different interviews about it to men's magazines ........ that paid her to do so .

I was a crorpsman in the US Navy, stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital outside of D.C.. All 435 Representatives, and 100 Senators got free yearly physicals. They all came through the Eye Clinic. At first, I was overwhelmed. Wow, I got to see the people, who were on the 6:30 news. But that wore off, real fast. I can remember thinking when I met some of them, "OMG!!!! If you're the winner in the election, what the hell was the looser like?'

I agree we have been on a losing streak lately. But I think we had a pretty good run with FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy and (to some extent) LBJ. Was OK with the Reagan/Bush/Clinton series as well. Not sure what has happened since but we seem so polarized we can barely function.

Not what they don't want to hear or see. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
 
Who are these people? Are they or were they really seen as, how can I put, it 'religious' people. I have to make the assumption that people are not necessarily stupid but desperate. Let's face it people will go on line, or do anything to find a cure however ridiculous it might seem for example those with cancer. I believe it is more desperation that stupidity and those who exploit others and claim to help using religion or any other 'source' are just the lowest of the lowest (but there are others), as it gives hope when they know there is no hope from their practice/s etc. Hope that makes sense. Just some thoughts. ☺
 
It is a real hard one to get to grips with here. I say this because my brother died out of the blue and his children are fighting to find out the truth behind the hospital errors. He was diagnosed with Leukemia but it may have been a wrong diagnosis.. However if someone had said there is something that might help him I would check it out, see if there is some research and take it on board and suggest it to him, however ridiculous it would seem. To hear my brother say bye, bye, bye as if he didn't want to leave the phone (and I didn't know how ill he was) and not knowing it was his last days is heartbreaking. I don't consider myself stupid. I have a degree and Masters so I will reiterate that it is desperation and people will do whatever they feel they need to do however 'ridiculous' other people feel that that might be. Yes we may be blinded to the obvious but rationality (but not stupidity) sometimes goes out of the window when you want to help those close to you.

Maybe I've lived a sheltered life, but this is the first I've ever heard of colloidal silver. I didn't even know what it was. I always thought copper was the metal being peddled to the credulous among us. Maybe there's more profit in selling silver?

These slimy opportunists seem to creep out of the woodwork every chance they get. It's been a long time since I heard of Bakker. He's just been lurking, waiting for his big chance.
 
All televangelists and mega church pastors are selling snake oil...And religion itself is snake oil...They created an imaginary disease called sin so they can sell you an imaginary cure.
