Female Attire

When I watch TV news I see male anchors in suits and ties and female anchors dressed with bare arms, open necks and legs exposed. Men are mostly covered up neck to toe and women not. This is the attire of men and women in general so I ask, ladies…aren’t you cold?

I disagree. I see a lot of women in newscasts on MSNBC, PBS, local news channels wearing sweaters, jackets, etc. during winter months. If the studio is heated, along with being under the lights, some may be just fine in a short sleeve or sleeveless top. Only ones who dress like sluts going to a club are the ones on Fox, that's how they keep their audience excited to be there. 🤡

It's not only Fox. I watch Real Time with Bill Maher every week, and a lot of his female guests are wearing dresses with low cut necklines and sometimes very short skirts. These are often serious scholars, government officials, judges, politicians, etc.

So I think we really can't blame this one on Fox.

I watch Married at First Sight, an Aussie tv show. At the dinner parties I have wondered if the menfolk wonder where to look at times when chatting, they are sitting across the table or beside a woman with her boobs virtually hanging out of her clothing. There are a few who have had breast implants, they proudly inform us. I wonder how far the menfolk could go when it comes to it, not very far I would say before the law was brought in and had them arrested.
Then the women play with their hair at the table, some of it must fall on the table and/or food. !!

I thought this thread was about the news shows. Isn't his just a talk show, a bit different? I never watched it, had to look it up.

Yes, we can. Bill doesn't/can't tell his guests what to wear and they are not his employees. Fox has the right to demand their wants in clothing as part of the job package.

I agree.

It is not only Fox news that flaunts female sexiness.
Many, many TV shows make it a point to show off female sexiness. One of my favorite TV shows is Star Trek: The Next Generation (on Netflix). There is one character, Deanna Troi, that nearly always wears skin tight clothing and a low cut top that shows off her boobs. While it is certainly true that "sex sells", it is also true that a very large percentage of women, in general, seem to have a strong desire to be sexy/beautiful. There is a reason why they are called "BEAUTY SHOPS".

Moreover, just look at all of the ads for female conditioners, perfumes, colognes, clothing, etc etc . The overwhelming percentage of those ads show very hot, attractive women. Clearly, these ads are designed to catch the eye of women.

It reminds me of the old, ongoing discussion about where males can safely cast their eyes without being thought a masher. Perhaps the old Seinfeld episode had it right that the breast area should be looked at in a brief, fleeting glance, as one would look at the sun, lest they get burned… ☀️

I enjoy watching most women, no matter the state of dress. Though to be honest the less clothed woman is more likely to catch my attention. I think this is a fairly normal thing for many men.

The men and women on these TV stations are well paid and probably cared for. I am not too concerned about their comfort, they are there by choice. And they are often not what I am most attracted to, too skinny and made up for my taste...

Women’s dress styles change constantly. Mens’ don’t. Clothing styles for women include Long, 3/4, short, sleeveless, spaghetti strap, halter, dolman, bell, batwing……I read an article once that there are over 45 type of womens sleeves 😂

Same with hem length, cut of dress, pats, skirts and it goes on and on with shoe styles and other accessories.

Men have far far less variety. If a man doesn’t wear a suit and tie on camera, but wants to look professional, what choices does he have? Remove the jacket? The tie? roll up the sleeves? Beyond that he’s faced with changing into shorts and a tee, and that’s definitely not professional!
