I agree to a point, but with this war going on in Ukraine, I’m not sure how much longer Russia is going to stay in the game. NATO nations have joined together to help to keep funding Ukraine, but at some point if this war should escalate into Poland or other countries in NATO, that may draw us into it. It won’t be good for any of us and with us all but in a recession, it may really put a hurting on our economy.WoW! That immediately brings back all the memories of 50's and having "Nuclear Bomb Drills." Hide under your desk...stay away from windows...etc. Scary stuff. It didn't happen back then, and I am relatively sure it won't happen in the near future, especially by surprise.
I have seen pictures of survivors from the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Not at all pretty. Depending on the size of the bomb, which would be the amount of kilos of the explosive, plus the radioactive material contained in the bomb and the size of the fire ring when it explodes, it would be possible to be vaporized if the person is within the fire ring and the amount of heat produced by it.I saw that PSA ...... scary indeed. But in the crazy world that it is today ..... I suppose precautions are not out of the question.
I remember the "Nuke" drills of grade school. That said as someone already pointed out ........ In the modern nuclear arsenal I seriously doubt , that there are any precautions we can count on ?
Personnaly , if it comes to a nuclear attack ....... I kinda hope the first one lands in my lap ..... I don't think I would want to survive ...... and try to live in the following nuclear winter.

There is a formula to figure it out, if you know the size of the bomb and the amount of explosive used, but I am not a physicist, so I would have to look it up, but we don’t really need to know that information anyway.
I too remember the drills. About the only valid advice would be to bend over, and kiss your a$$ goodbye.
Or go back to making the desks we had in the 1950's which were strong enough to protect us from nuclear fallout!Exactly !!

OK, so while I was in college studying aviation, we did touch on Atomic energy. a nuclear bomb and an Atomic bomb are ‘basically’ one in the same. The difference in the the two bombs is how the atoms are split . One by fusion and one by fission. For me to go any deeper, I would need to fill a page of worthless information that almost no one would care to read. However, if you want to dig into it, I am sure that there is plenty of information on the web."but I am not a physicist, "
Nor am I ....... but those were Atomic ......... as i understand it ........ Nuclear is just more powerful & deadly.
That really is the best advice. You only have to look at the devastation that the Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombs did. Compared to today's nuclear weapons they were all primitive, so what's the point of surviving? Here in Britain, no-one seems worried. I think the belief is that any conflict will involve fighting in Russia or Ukraine. However Putin is another one who is itching to fire a nuclear bomb, so it wouldn't take much to provoke an attack. The after-effects are such that it would be better to just stand out in the street and prepare to meet your maker.
