Why do Men age much better than Women?

I’ve seen cases on the other side of the spectrum where people who were geeky, dorky, funny-looking or lackluster in their youth have gone on to be highly-presentable adults and seniors. Some people peak early, while others are just beginning to reach their stride…

I've had a very long time to live with my ugly mug and I'm content with it now. 😊
But some of you ladies....... you are all gorgeous, just learn to love yourselves. 🤗
Resisting the ageing process isn't a crime, though I agree it mostly isn't necessary, and high self esteem is a very good thing that most hopefully have, (even if made slightly higher by a nice nail job, or hairstyle).

Making the most of whatever looks you've been granted when you're young, (especially when you've got a great/strong personality to go with it), can do wonders.

I was looking at old TV shows and in almost all of them, the Men look just as handsome older as they looked younger, sadly the women didn't. I wonder why!
Smoking reduces oxygen to the skin, which also decreases blood circulation, and that can result in weathered, wrinkled, older-looking skin. Nicotine causes blood vessels to narrow, reducing oxygen flow and nutrients to skin cells. A number of chemicals trigger molecular events that remodel or damage structures necessary for skin elasticity and health. Repetitive squinting and lip pursing contribute to lines around the mouth and eyes.

The deprivation of oxygen, to the skin, over time, can change your complexion and cause uneven colouring. In addition, smoking can damage the collagen in your skin. As a result, skin is more likely to develop deeper wrinkles and sag worse; than the skin of a non-smoker.

case in point...

Looking around, and back a few years, I will say it is about even. Some men have that craggy look about them from 50 years on and wear it well. Others have a baby face until 40 or so, then "grow into their face". Still others have that "old soul" look when they are vey young, then don't change much in looks and turn out very distinguished looking.

As for the ladies, a baby face in school is a plus when you are 60. A gorgeous complexion and mature look at 17 doesn't wear as well at 50 and beyond. And if you are lucky, you kind of look your best at 40-50, and gently wear those fine and wrinkles as they come uninvited in your 70s.

And don't forget the "40 miles of bad road" either to living fast and hard, or serious illnesses.

At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yeah, I think, when approaching late '70s, makeup should be used in moderation.
