Sorting and pricing plants for my brother's plant sale. He has geraniums(3 colors), hostas(10 varieties), succulents, perennials. vegetables. annual flowers etc, etc. which he raised from seed and now it is time to sell. I am spending most of a week with him on his acreage in Iowa.

I'm panicking right now. After soaking in the tub I came into the living room and turned on the tv. There was an announcement that there was a shooting in Georgia. I have 2 nephews and a niece and their families living in Atlanta. I called them and got no answer from any of them. I left all of them messages on their phones and panicking until I hear from any of them.

I've been hearing about this... assuming they're all busy finding out what they have to do to stay safe and will contact you real soon. Let us know! @Sassycakes

About that shooter who's still at large: Um...seems he's thought to be in the same county where I live. News says heavy police presence just a few miles from me. He carjacked someone in Midtown, ditched the car, carjacked another and is thought to be near Braves Stadium. Swell.

Sitting and trying to digest what my surgeon just told me: I have bladder cancer! I chose regular checks (and treatment) to ensure I stay reasonably comfortable over radiation treatment which might prolong my life a bit. Please, don't feel sorry or treat me differently in any way! We all have to go and I am prepared for it! Just sharing with some who have become friends in my mind!

Helicopters! Sirens! Showing on the TV news the area where they're looking for the shooter, and it's absolutely swarming with police. They're stopping cars arriving and leaving and checking the trunks at a particular apartment complex. I hope they find him soon because it's making me as nervous as a long-tailed car in a room full of rocking chairs.

Welp, just back from derma doc....she said this rash is NOT
shingles!!! Suspects some bad reaction to a pollen or something,.....so anyway got some prednisone pills to take
and cream to use on my skin...plus take benedryl every nite
befor bed....ah well....damn rash anyway.........

I'm glad you've got some med to fight this damn rash! Benedryl is very helpful but will make you sleepy. Prednisone is like magic. You're on your way to relief.

@Georgiagranny, I can understand how you feel. Youngest son went to Kenasaw University one year and when they had a shooter on campus, and were telling everyone to stay indoors, they sent voicemails to me—. Not thee kind of announcement you want to come home to!

son was at work the whole time but I didn’t know. And til I heard he was safe (and for a while afterwards, tbh) I was a nervous wreck.

the little bus picks me up for shopping in town once a week and that is always good fun even before I get there - we are usually outnumbered but no fighting is allowed and some are already in cuckoo cuckoo land so the conversation run fast and at cross purposes but I just think it is a hoot. Once in WW we spread out some are supervised and l'd like to be for the wrong reasons - but I have been shopping here for 8 yrs approx so catch up with a few acquaintances - then we can be whisked off to the PO or Bank or anywhere else we need in our small town of 9000 - Kimmberley West Oz? got back and my provider had dropped out - and wouldn't drop in again - still I have 4 bags to empty helped by the dogs nose and then cooked myself a couple of small lamb chops with baked beans - nice snack I will give the dog the bones in a mo! now the internet has come back - I really don't know how it gets to me in the middle of a bloody forest but it does 98% well. they also sent me an email which I never enjoy the prices are going to increase with a little bit more of GB as a sweetner - aren't they crafty. having a glass of homemade beer and got a call of my lad who is coming up for a few days to join me for the coronation with cigars and bourbon - isn't he considerate - he will leave the family behind cos they don't wanna come anyway and only live 2 hrs drive away. they always care about me at least they say so but never wanna do social get together thingessss! he will bring plenty of asian food up and some muscat - my favorite tipple.

Woke up yesterday with a sore right foot. I managed OK and thought that a good rest would fix it, but it's still sore this morning. I now it's trivial in comparison to other people's problems, but it can still mess up your day. No driving, no gardening etc till I get it sorted. No sense going to the Doc's (assuming I could get an appointment) as I'd probably be told to rest it and take pain killers.

4th. of May and it feels like winter here. It's overcast, cold and windy. This must be the Global warming that they talk about.

Local Election voting day here today. We have 9 candidates and 3 votes - and having only lived her 11 months I know very little about the local politics of the area. However, I always vote and think it should be compulsory like it is in OZ (with a 'None of The Above' Option.) I'll probably spread my votes among the parties (but not Tory - NEVER Tory) so that's Labour, Green and Independent.
