2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

another sunny, warm day here yesterday we hit 90
This weekend a cold front will be coming thru,temps will be in the 70's with no humidity
I don't mind it being warm but the older I get the humidity zaps my energy don't want to do anything

Yes, although it's nice to have warm sunny weather, rain is always required for the farmers. Without the farmers and the crops they grow for us, we'd be in serious trouble! We're gonna need an all day steady light rain soon to rejuvenate the soil and everything that grows in it 🙏
 
Not bad right now because fog blowing in from the ocean keeps our temperature moderate. But I dread the next heat wave in summer (almost 120 degrees in the shade last September = 48.77 Celsius) when the winds from the high desert (>4,000 feet) blow down into the valleys. Palm Springs in the low desert and Dead Valley below sea level are even worse. BTW, because the greater Los Angeles area has wide temperature differences, forecasts are given always for the beaches, inland areas, the valleys and the Inland Empire (Riverside & San Bernardino,) the low and high deserts, and the mountain communities (between 4,000 and 7,000 feet high.) The beaches and mountains are usually pleasant while all other areas are not always so pleasant. We are surrounded by 3 mountain ranges taller than 10,000 feet (San Gabriel, San Bernardino, and San Jacinto) and the smaller Santa Ana Mountains that (and >12 million people!) causes our smog problem by preventing sufficient air circulation. The San Andreas earthquake fault runs between the mountain ranges, and Los Angeles on the Pacific Tectonic Plate moves in the average 2 inches a year north and will eventually be a neighbor of San Francisco. The next big earthquake is overdue. Luckily, our house sits on decomposed granit with fault zones 15 miles away, and the Andreas fault about 25 miles away. Our house is as safe as you possibly can be in Southern California.

Only 10C? It was a lot cooler where I am today (Niagara Region; Ont.) but even the low was well above 10C. It was about 24C here today & sunny; just perfect (y) A little windy though today. Blowing maple keys from the trees by the millions! I have never seen as many maple keys on the trees before o_O

Is anyone in the northeastern US noticing this too? (New York, Penn. or Ohio ... )

Yes it was very cool today especially considering it was 34 the other day. I just like a cool rainy day to do gardening. It’s gentler on the plants and I don’t have to water them. Actually I soak the individual pots before I transplant them. With a cloudy day they get no transplant shock. Today was a good day.
 
It was extremely hot Thursday and Friday with real feel temps as high as 101. It cooled down for the rest of the weekend. Today seemed like a beautiful day (though I didn't go outside. The high was 75.
 
We're currently locked into one of the worst droughts in years..."Extreme Drought". I've registered less than 4" in my rain gauge so far this Spring. Normally, we would have 12 to 15 inches of rain by this time of year. Plus, the sky has a slight gray color, due to the forest fires in Canada. If this continues, I won't be doing much lawn mowing this year.
