What are you doing today 2023

I've been awake since 4:30 a.m. We went to my sister's for dinner last night, and had a reunion with relatives
we haven't seen for years. I think I'm in mental over-stimulation mode .. thus, can't sleep.

It was lovely to see my sister-in-law from Ohio, and my niece and her new boyfriend in from New York.
Also my nephew and his wife who live in Hamilton, Ont. and my sister's friends who used to teach at the
same high school where my sis was a secretary. Lots of great conversation.
 
Good morning breakfast clubbers !! Wow, slept till 7am, that is amazing, course
may have to do with taking an extra sleeping pill LOL!!! Feel somewhat better
the sore spots are not as sore, tho the cheek by black eye is still touchy...I zoned
yesterday by taking a pain pill, then a second one 10hrs later...think I may do
a load of laundry today, but not much else....forget if tomorrow is my caregiver
day or not...she will be shocked at my eye....she had to have one of her cats
sent to the rainbow on friday...welp, I need a second cuppa and so you all
take care now ya'hear !!> :love:
 

Just been in the garden..it's sunny, but quite windy.. Had to pick up things which had blown over. Due to the rain we've had this week the Ivy has grown fast, so I need to get the ladders out and get up over the shed , and cut it all back, but I'm not going to do it today because of the high winds..
 
I didn't get up until 6, but I wanna tell ya that I've been a busy little🐝! Showered, folded laundry left over from last night, watered garden, spread more mulch.

Just waiting now for DD to be awake enough to take me to the garden center to get...more mulch, of course. Still need lots of mulch to finish spread and make the garden look tidier and keep the soil wet after watering until we get real rain again.

It was supposed to be raining by 5 this morning. That got moved to 11, then moved to 2, now says 4, but radar shows it all going north of us.

Just another day here. Mrs.L and daughter are baking cakes and I've been trimming the tops of the potato plants. Time for a coffee and then on with a bit more gardening.
Mrs.L used to do quite a bit of dressmaking, but I think she's now more of a jeans and T-shirt girl.

We went to Fabric Land earlier today, there are projects for every one of these fabrics.
 
Packing and getting ready to go to the cool mountains of North Carolina at o'dark-thirty tomorrow morning. I can't to get there. We're going to be dogsitting and taking care of a 60-year-old turtle while my sister and her husband are gone. Their house is on top of a mountain with a 180-degree view of the mountains. It's paradise with deer in the yard every morning and the occasional bear lumbering by.

I will visit my favorite streams and waterfalls while I am there and indulge in some good 'ol North Carolina BBQ.
 
Today was mostly a lazy day. I found a Jazz piano course on YouTube and started practicing one of the lessons this evening. Although I started out on piano, I played organ for more years than piano. It's easier to sound good on an organ and the techniques are definitely different. Playing my compositions is a whole 'nother ball game and an even different set of techniques. So I decided it's time for me to be able to play "regular" piano to my liking.
 
Making slow but steady progress throwing out excess stuff & cleaning up. Want apt. in totally clean condition for new cats. Yesterday, moving a futon in small bedroom found big tuft of Buffy fur. Saving that stuff, makes me feel better while feeling sad. Two days it will be two months since.
 
I was hoping to go to the store on my mobility chair this morning but it has been raining since I got up. Doesn't look like it will be letting up anytime soon. We have had a lot of rain the last few days so there has been flooding in some areas. Including the main streets a block from here.

Today I am doing laundry and some other chores. Right now just having coffee and feeding my bunny his morning banana.
