My husband could never get the pronunciation of Worcester. It was hilarious! In Massachusetts we pronounce it 'Wooster.' Do you?
Is it any wonder that non-English speakers have to be praised for learning our wretched language. I used wretched deliberately because the letter "w" is silent. In Brit speak, the term Wooster is used for Worcester. Warwick is pronounced Worrick and so on. Tsunami must have those foreigners baffled, then there's the silent "P" as in psychology, psychiatry, psyche, psychotic or pseudo. But the one that really causes headaches is the word, "Sword." Why is the w silent in sword but not sworn? Speaking of profanities, why is it that foreigners learn to swear in English so very quickly?

Good morning! Feeling better than yesterday. Yay. And it's another lovely cool morning.

I'm gonna go into work for a couple of hours but not gonna knock myself out for sure. Texted Sir last night. He insists he's going to work this morning :(. I really hope he gets up this morning and decides that's off the table.

Taking a jacket to work because there's work to be done in the freezer🥶 and with my Reynaud's disease/syndrome, whatever it is, don't need to tempt fate.

Y'all behave while I'm gone. (As if!)

I was watching a reality show last night.. The cast in it were not English... and they were stone cold sober, middle class in their late 20's when they arrived in Croatia, and the very first thing and only thing they asked of the Croatian cab driver was how do they swear in his language ... I thought that was very odd... but perhaps that's how they learn ...

Had a Russian driver who claimed to not know English. He took me way out of my way and he kept insisting in Russian he knew no English. Yet, when I said "F you" he not only understood, but began cursing me back in "perfect" English!

F You. Great way to break the ice! ❤️
Learned it in Italian by age 10. Didn't learn it in English till I was 13. I learned it by reading 'Lady Chatterley's Lover.'

We're going to go into town to workout. Even though most businesses will be closed for the Holliday, the little grocery store should be open, but I'm not sure if the deli will be open. And cups!!!! Maybe, as a special treat, they might even have cups!!!!

I watched the same reality show. I also thought it was odd to ask about curse words. Sunday night is my favorite night for watching tv…love, love, love all the silly reality shows. My guilty pleasure!
