Hi Diva, my grandson is fine now. It was scary. When I was a kid my temp went up to 106! It must have been a Tuesday night, as my sister was so worried about me she didn't watch the Milton Berle show!

I didn't make it up. I am very intuitive. There is a problem with all six of the kittens in the litter. They are mostly being held back from adoption due to colds & etc. I don't know how long the delay will be. I'm asking for them anyway. My son is involved. We'll see. I won't take too long. I want kittens, babies, not juveniles. I'll wait up to a week only, but want them this Saturday as originally promised.

So, it wasn't a mental health issue for me. It's a knowing stuff without solid evidence thing for me. I know stuff in advance. I question myself because I'm surprised at the truths I come up with.
I understand your desire to have them home. It is very important to have them come home in good health. If not, there will be many vet visits, which can be a lot of money, so much worry over your babies. It may be delayed but will be better if they don't come to their Mom until they are perfectly healthy.

I adopted a puppy from a shelter. We always assume everything is okay at that point. She came home with a skin condition that required many vet visits and medications. Of course she got all the care she needed. If it was needed now it would be hard, I don't have that kind of energy. She has never had any health problems since, she is laying right beside me 13 years later. She goes to the vet once a year for her physical, medications and teeth cleaning.

I had such a nice time reuniting with my high school friend, yesterday! We went to a well-known steak house where the service was terrible, the food was cold, and the company was wonderful!!! 😁 My friend still lives in our old neighborhood, about 600 miles from here, where I l now. She has relatives around the country, and was passing through on her way home from visiting her sister. We plan on keeping in touch, now that we have found each other. She sees her sister a few times a year, so we are looking forward to her next stop over in my area.

I'm not sure what today will bring...I'm taking it one step at a time. I have plenty of "want tos" on my list for the day, but not sure if I have enough "going tos". 😂

I have so much to do. Yesterday I went to Aldi's and did a mini-stock-up. I don't have room for anything huge. Stocked up on cans of diced tomatoes, beans, coffee, lentils and rice for dry goods and stuffed the freezer w/ veggies, etc.

I only put some of it away. My broken dishwasher is home to pastas and dog foods/snacks.

Everything is out of the linen closet in bags pending the sheet rock guy (who hasn't shown up yet), so I'm thinking to re-arrange things and use part of that closet for dry goods storage.

Today I am awaiting phone call from a friend who thinks she wants to be involved in a forum. She could not find my Mizmo posts with my Westie avatar, hence the picture . Temporary.

Ahhh but first I have to tell her how to fix her chrome window size and a few other problems she has with her laptop and, and, ......ohhhh now I am prattling on.....you get the picture.
Been through it all before with her I hope she has forgotten what I look like....(oh that was nasty)embarrassed-06.gif
I would like to have a big glass of wine to keep me calm and nice but will have to settle for coffee and choc biscuit.

Back from Tesco... very warm out there at almost 80 degrees.. but Humid.... ..filled the tank with petrol.. had a little bit of a panic moment because the door to the fuel tank wouldn't unlock, then when I finally got it open, and filled up, it wouldn't lock again.. took me a good few minutes on the forecourt trying to get it to finally lock. I think I'll have to spray it with WD40..

Bought a pale green winter V neck, and a royal Blue long sleeve round neck T-shirt... as well as £80 worth of groceries...

Why is it I always get to the checkout that has the hold up. ?... Today there was only one women at the checkout so I pulled in there, she packed all her stuff, then her card wouldn't work.. so she tried another one, that wouldn't work either.. ( and believe me she's in no hurry) at this point if I hadn't had so much stuff on the conveyor I would have gone to another checkout... but guess what she does next ?.... she calls someone on the phone.. and asks them what the pin is...while there's now a big queue behind me. 🫣 . and I've got a ton of frozen food... it gets worse.. she puts that pin in... doesn't work..:rolleyes:

She scrambles around in her bag for another card.. and eventually has that accepted... jeez!!...what a faff!

I would be apologising to everyone in the queue if it had been me.. but no, she seemed oblivious ... 😒

Haha...oh did think about that but it is highly unlikely.
I would have to help her sign up etc and I ain't gonna do that.

SHe could not find Mizmo with the link I sent but did read some posts and wasn't sure if it was for her etc etc but maybe could try. Then she lost the link. Are you getting the picture.
Not really a friend...acquaintance , and latched on to me years ago when I helped her best friend with her PC problems.

She sticks like mud...sorry, sorry, just venting. Still waiting for call.

Oh I know exactly what you mean...unfortunately..😖

To the doctor today, for the every 6 months required blood work for my medications. Nurse asked which arm, I put them both out and say which ever but the left always seems to be best. She says no the right looks best, you guessed, vein rolled in the right, so I got a second poke in the left and it went great. Now, I look like a druggie, bruising coming up on both arms.

Asked for my flu shot, so the doc after out talk, says I will send the nurse right in with the flu shot. I sat there for 20 minutes, so I open the door, no one there. I stand in the doorway, the doc comes out of another room. She says have you not had your shot, duh, no. So she sends me to the lab and says she will send someone down. Nope, go back and have to hunt down the doc. After 10 more minutes someone comes with the shot.

Doc, comes back and explains they are having a hard time finding employees, CNAs to work or stay for any length of time. I have been at this practice for over 30 years. I have always known the nurses and got a prompt response when I called for anything. Since COVID, things have gone downhill. I like them because of inhouse lab and xray available. The doctor I have now took over from my previous doctor. I really like her, but everything else has gone bad.

Is it time to find a new doctor? I liked this family practice. it is close to home, they have the needed services and weekend doctors available if needed. I am just wondering if now is the time to switch to a geriatric type physician. What is your experience, have you done better with a doctor for the older generation?
Sorry that you had that exhausting and difficult experience at your Dr office. :(

It's so disappointing when that happens.
I would be very cautious about changing Dr s, though, unless you have some definite way of knowing that a new one will not have the same difficulties, or equal or even worse ones.

At least you do like this Dr.
Most of my Dr offices are having similar problems. Very poor.

In addition, the new doctors here, now require we switch completely without being allowed to meet the new Dr first.

Lucky you @hollydolly up top it's raining and cold. You're lucky if you've got 80 degrees and sun. Cheers!

It's not just docs' offices that can't find people...it's everdamnwhere!

I'm home (obviously). It's downright cold at 70F and overcast but no rain expected. Strange.

So...I was busily knocking out my first-thing-in-the-morning tasks when out of nowhere appeared a woman I'd never seen before. She's an employee of a contactor that's directing a bunch of changes. She asked, "Is Sir going to be here this morning?" What the what? What if he hadn't been coming in? I sure as :poop: didn't have time to be bothered with her new edicts, not to mention I have no authority to "instruct" Sir about what he is to do.

As it turned out, he was there just a few minutes after she appeared. One of the big changes is that we are no longer allowed to put the product labels on the package in a way that's designed to keep the packages sealed. You read that right. IOW, a customer comes along, hungry, and can just open the package, help themselves or stick their fingers in icing or whatever they feel like doing, and move along on their merry way. Not to mention that when a customer turns the package over to see the price, it will open and the contents will fall on the floor. Whaaaaat?

I can tell you for absolute certainty that I will never again buy anything from a Kroger bakery except something I've baked that day and not put on a shelf. Nope nope nopity nope!

We already have a problem with customers breaking the seal, taking a bite of a donut, taking a cookie, taking one muffin out of the package, then putting the package back on the shelf or table. You really gotta wonder who dreams up this kind of stuff.

She also spent a lot of time looking over products that were already on the shelves and telling me how I was baking them all wrong. Constructive criticism is one thing, criticism from a know-nothing contractor is another. Grrr. When she was out of earshot, Sir said to just go along with her. She'll be there again tomorrow, but tomorrow's my day off. Then she's gone. Yay.

Sir is an extremely patient person, but I wonder how thin his patience will wear this afternoon?

I'm gonna go rest my brain and my Self.

I remember when efficiency "experts" came into factories and offices where I worked. They'd change things without regard to the next step down the line. As soon as they left, of course we'd change everything back.

Corporate offices pay for these ridiculous "experts," who then create ridiculous new policies to prove their value. (Which is usually less than zero.) Such a waste of time and money.

You'll probably be sealing the packages with the labels again by the time the weekend arrives.

I have a mental picture of being at work, somebody turning over a package, contents falling out, and the next thing is hearing the pager: "Cleanup needed in the bakery." LOL

DD and DSIL went out for lunch and brought back a to-go lunch for me...green enchiladas, rice, beans. I scarfed it down like I hadn't eaten in a week. Delicious!

Been a Jolly Pets Tug-n-Toss kind of day

I'm glad your grandson is better. I understand about knowings (and questioning yourself about them) too. I have had some ominous ones...one that came true devastated me. More about that another time. So you answered your own question. These are not things for the mental health group but perhaps the knowings you care to share would make interesting posts for our Paranormal group.
