We brought TGS home to his parents and brand new baby brother yesterday. I'm here to tell you, even working together and tag-teaming, DH & I were barely a match for 72 hours of an active two year old.

Today's list of things to do is filled with at-home projects. With my little buddy loving to go bye-bye in the car regardless of the destination, most errands were knocked out while he was here. I'm expecting we'll be taking him some this week, probably 4-6 hours at a stretch his parents figure out their new schedule.

As parents of two or more can attest, when it comes to time, work and attention drain, each new child moves parents past simple addition and the higher math of exponents. Two children are more than twice the work of one, or as my great-grandmother used to say, "One is like none and two are like ten."

Today, I've put away the last "winter" decoration. Since he's not specifically a Christmas decoration, I always leave him out until the end of Feb. The snowball lights up and changes colors. He is so cheerful looking that I like leaving him our for as long as I can.

@hollydolly, can you give us more information about ham ribs? I have never heard of that. Are they like baby back pork ribs?

I did pick up a rack of baby back ribs when I went to the store the other day. They are so good!!
I have no clue what Baby Back ribs are... never heard of them...so can't tell you..

from the butchers, website...
ham ribs are cured using our own cure for 3 days prior to hanging and allowing to air dry. The ribs are from our specially selected Scotch pork loin and bellies. Available smoked or unsmoked. They are the essential ingredient to make ham stock for soups e.g. Ham & Lentil. The smoked ribs are also delicious boiled to eat hot of the bone.

Those would be called spare ribs here. Baby back ribs are much smaller and are the most tender cut of ribs. I used to cook them on the grill but now just bake in the oven low and slow.

Somebody posted a day or two ago about cleaning the contacts on small battery operated things. I want to try it on a couple of my garden lights. Anybody remember how to do it and what to use?

Sunday was a better day. There was just enough rain to keep the neighbors inside. But calm and quiet enough to be relaxing.

I watched 3 presentations on day 7 of 11 of my online seminar. One of them was exceptional and helpful. It was on breaking habits in a self-compassionate way.

It was quiet enough that I took a nice nap for a couple hours. That was great.

I gave myself a treat of low-salt Pringles at the end of the day.

Found it! Between @hearlady's and @Widow of Vietnam Vet's tips on cleaning the battery contacts, maybe I can get the solar lights working again. Here's hoping🤞

It's so warm this morning that I sat on the patio with my coffee in my jammies. No robe, just jammies and slippers. It won't last forever, but it sure it nice right now. Not much sun expected today but at least no rain, either. Just warm temps.

Laundry today and some yard work. DD sent me garden pix each year starting in 2011. I'm ashamed of myself for neglecting it since last summer. Time to get to work out there! Her car will be in the shop today so can't get to the garden centers, but on Wednesday after work we're going to scout stuff that can be planted now and tolerates cooler temps. Wednesday because I'm off Thursday and can plant stuff.

Right now it's time to get my arse in gear.
