Good morning, my friends!
Seems our winter is making a final stand - cool and rainy today and tomorrow with highs at 57°F (13.8°C) both days. Monday forward shows very low chances of rain and temps from 71-83F (21.6-28.3C) through the next two weeks. This week we'll cover the pool to start warming it and dramatically reduce summer evaporation.
Today we'll have TGS, then tomorrow our two older grandchildren. Not taking the toddler for the night - that starts up again next weekend. Except for the annoyance of lingering post-nasal drip, I'm fully recovered from the two March nasties that sidelined me (flu then Covid). Even so, for the next couple of weeks DH & I will don masks when in stores or other indoor public spaces.
I did some research and learned this: "Evidence is building of the negative impact of COVID on a healthy individual’s immune system, several weeks after symptoms have subsided."
I’ve had COVID and am constantly getting colds. Did COVID harm my immune system? Am I now at risk of other infectious diseases?
Looks like earlier generations had it right - our bodies need time to snap back fully after illness.
@hollydolly & @Trila, I'm sorry you're not feeling well and hope you're both back in the pink soon.
When sick, my go-to light meal is regular applesauce on lightly toasted bread with a little cinnamon sprinkled over top. The oil in butter or peanut butter, much as I ordinarily love the latter, would make them non-starters. I think people's bodies tell them what is most likely to be tolerated, if anything.
