@hawkdon It was me. I was trying to be quiet. Oops.

Well, the straw that broke the camel's back was one thing, but when the camel got whipped after its back was already broken was a bridge too far. I'm home. Texted Sir to tell him I was leaving and not coming back. He said "ok."

I feel free.

I know you (or maybe that's ME! 😁). may have wanted to leave a different way but they left you no choice so be happy, rest, and look forward. Life, the birds, the bees, and the garden are waiting for you.

We spent the holiday yesterday at my daughter's in-laws' house.
They live on a river and after after a wonderful dinner we were able to watch fireworks across the river spread to four different displays. DD and SIL took the girls to see them up close (with Grandma insisting they protect their ears) but we were happy with the further off version.
Weather was perfect and we watched the girls on tubes in the water. Grandson was happy to have all four grandparents watching out and playing with him.
Great Day!

I am starting my day by cleaning out the lazy Susan. Going to get rid of whatever is old or I don't use anymore. Doing that while I drink my morning coffees. Not sure what else I will be doing.

Last night I never heard the fireworks. Prior years it was so loud you could not sleep through it. It was at the fairgrounds and they were charging $25. to go in. Per car load. Well if you lived nearby or even here, you could go outside and look up and see it. Don't know why I didn't hear it or that I slept through it (which surprises me because I hear everything). I am lucky that Rabbit is not scared of loud noises from outside.

Been having lots of trouble getting more test strips! Doctor's office kept screwing up prescription. It's ready after 10 long days of nonsense & stress. Got a call finally ready. Will go in to CVS after their lunch time, 2pm to get them then walk Suicide Hill four times to calm my nerves! Will read my book in park, go home, get stoned.

Oh. I'm 75 now. I had another birthday.
@Pepper !!!! Sorry I missed your birthday! I didn't see it posted.

I lost a half hour of time yesterday. I was taking a familiar walk, I knew where I was, but not why it took me an hour to get there. Felt confused for rest of day. This has never happened to me before. In a daze, and no, not any drug relation as far as I know.

Turning 75 overwhelmed me. Also, next night, ate a full half of my Birthday cake my dil sent me home with. Ate in one session, not throughout the day. Yum, but I made myself sick and have been trying to regain a sense of self ever since.

Yesterday, 2 hour phone call, BFF. While it was wonderful, fun and loving, I felt lost afterwards. That's when I took my walk and lost half hour of time. Long walk, too, several hours in heat.

I gotta getta grip before I fall down the rabbit hole.

I've got my washing hanging out after my dryer broke down yesterday....

I've taken the chance while there's a gap in the rain,, and just keeping a wary eye out for the rain starting again, so I can dash out and get it in again...... the skies are very heavy so it won't be long before the heavens open...

I have nowhere in the house to hang washing.. I don't have a Clothes airer or anything...

I could drive 2 towns away where there is a laundrette , but if I can get this lot dried here today..I'll order a new Dryer when I get back from my trip..

Wow ! What happened ?
When I went in, found that nothing was set up for this morning. That's about a two-hour setback in timing.

Tired of flak from management over empty shelves for something over which I have no control. Tired of having the finger pointed at me because I try to cover for Sir. Just plain tired of carrying his water.

Sir is a really, really nice guy, but he's a p*ss poor manager. He didn't train me, I learned by-guess-and-by-golly (aka The Seat of the Pants Method), and he isn't training newest hire. At the time I started, there was a big binder with laminated pages of instructions and pictures of what the products should look like before and after being baked, and pictures of how they should be packaged. If I was all at sea about how to do something, I could consult the book...mostly outdated because "nobody" ever changed the pages, but still something to use as a guide. Don't know what happened to it, but it has been gone for months.

It would be a godsend to newest hire since it's the only direction/instruction she'll get.

Sir hates confrontation, which is why The Golden Child is still on the payroll in spite of not doing her job and in spite of excessive absences. Management will not step in until Sir has a sit-down with her first. Therefore, management will not step in at all. That's what makes her The Golden Child. She's untouchable.

Anyway, no longer a problem for me. I was only a warm body, and another one will come along. For most of the full-time employees, it's a career that they never intended, that they dislike and where they're only marking time. For part-timers, it's just a stop along the way to the next thing. Glad to be shut of the whole silly circus.

Sad because I really liked baking stuff.

I'm not awake yet, and it might take all day before I am. Storms came through during the night, kept me up. Also, they brought another inch of rain.

Even though everything was soaked this morning, Goober didn't even notice. He just ran around like usual. At one point, Dio rolled Goob onto his back and dragged him around through the wet grass until he was soaked. Goober didn't even care...he loves water!!! Once he dries though, I expect that he will be extra poofy!!!!

"They" say that my temps will be a bit cooler today, but we'll see..."they" have lied before!!!

I'm sure you would have liked to give more notice but the situation was what it was.
Hope it wasn't too soon for the hoopla, I just had so looked forward to us all celebrating with cake that I may have been a bit insensitive in the timing. If so, I'm sorry.
Just want to see you out of that unpleasantness and in your garden! 🤗

Until today, I'd never (in 70 years!) left a job without notice. Nope. Not once.

Wow. Imagine being in the working world for 70 years.

Well it had to be done. You stood for much more than you should have, and it's their loss that you've gone now....it was a long time coming.

I know you're concerned about how to pass the time... in retirement, but you'll find something whether it's outside the house or inside.... and anyway you've got to be at home resting after the eye procedure..

Have a good trip. I hope the weather dries up :)

@Georgiagranny, they just lost their best worker. When they wake up and don’t smell the cookies and croissants, they’ll realize the error of their ways. Leaving with no notice wasn’t your choice, it had to be done. (((Hugs))).

I’d suggest you to go for a walk, except it’s too darn hot!
