Back in July, on the 21st, a vintage festival was held on the quayside of the Dorset town of Poole.
Somebody caught the attention of the magazine's cameraman.

Have you seen that car before? What about that couple bottom left? Look familiar?

yep cool for cats... not surprised you got your piccies in the magazine..

When are we going to see your new outfits... time for the Blue outfits to get an airing methinks..and the blue brogues...

very pleased I didn't go... if there's one thing i cannot stand is an elvis impersonator.. I didn't like the original, I like impersonators even less..

Dishes washed. Starting on nails. Ugh. Why did I let them go so long?

@hollydolly And when you get home, measure your furniture, of course, so you can "see" what will fit where. There's probably a website where you can lay out the floor plan to help figure out furniture placement. That'll help you to unload stuff that you can't take along (and still leave room for my stuff, too, when I move in with you).
Good idea about measuring because altho' I have a good eye for thattype of thing.. the furniture in this house is larger than normal because the house is big enough to take it...

I was thinking that if I do move to a smaller place I might just sell the whole house of furniture bar a few bits and start again...

Yesssssssssss! Or you could sell it fully furnished. In any case, that way "we" can plan for arrangement of my stuff before I haul it all across the pond. Wait. Maybe I'll just sell all mine, too. Or leave it for DD to worry about.

What about Maggiecat? I need her. She's my emotional support cat sloth.

I did something similar 3 years ago and absolutely love it. Last night I cooked dinner for 5 friends that I met in my building. We have so much fun together, sometimes get together on the spur of the moment because we live together in the same building. I sit on my balcony and look at the beautiful courtyard. I feel safe and it’s easy to clean 855 sq ft.

A friend yesterday wanted to see the closet organizer my son installed and said “ wow you have so few clothes. It’s double rods and slightly less than half of the closet. I read that most people only wear 25% of their clothes because we all have our favorites. I only kept my favorites. If I buy 2 new tops I get rid of 2. You are taking new clothes to the thrift store with tags on or something only worn once. You have the space so are filling it. It’s very freeing to downsize. I love living right in town.

Since we sometimes misunderstand each other I am definitely not criticizing you but just sharing my experience. I also brought too much furniture and stuff with me because it’s hard to estimate what will fit. I either sold or gave away the excess furniture and took the extra stuff to the thrift store.

When my parents were 65 they sold their house and rented a 1100 sq ft apartment and loved it. I think change is good as we go through the different stages of our lives. You and I are the same age and both alone for similar reasons and length of time. It’s definitely a big adjustment.
I didn't know we did misunderstand each other.. yes I think maybe when all is said and done..ripping myself away from the familiar, and all the people I know here.my neighbours who I've known for 45 years... everything familiar in my house.. except for a few things.. a brand new clean start , with no memories of him at a different property and of course different area.. will do me good..

After all how much time do I have left.. may be 10 years maybe 20 .. maybe even less.. time for me to find somewhere where I'm not sitting rotting until I die..

selling it fully furnished would be much more difficult.. not like renting fully furnished.. but yep.. it's definitely something to think about.

Nope sorry... no anxiety support cats.. or cockatoos. or bears or snakes... sorrryy....

@horseless carriage You are so dapper, and Mrs. HC is so stylish! Love it!
What a lovely compliment, thank you. It did make me smile.

Cool for cats eh? I just about remember the band, Squeeze releasing Cool For cats. I wasn't impressed, but I did like a subsequent hit: Labelled With Love.

My talented lady has always declined from making me a blazer jacket. This photo is from the front of a paper pattern,
I'm hoping that I can persuade her to have a go at making it for me. After all, she has made lady's suits for herself and
what an impression they make. So here's hoping.

This generation...a therapist is an absolute must. No therapist? OMG! The sky is falling! My old brain says that a good therapist leads you to the tools you need to deal with the problem(s) and bids you a fond farewell, wishing you good luck and a nice life. Not so with them...it's a lifetime thing. Arrange your time/day/life and money around therapy.
It may be common across the map now, but I remember being a kid and seeing Woody Allen on TV, when he was a stand-up comedian. He seemed to still be in his 20s. His therapy & therapist were main substance of his patter. And in his early movies (Annie Hall comes to mind), there he and his girlfriend were in key scenes, each with their therapist. I got the perhaps false impression that educated New Yorkers were all going to therapists once each week!

Took the vac apart and cleaned it.
There is a problem with power. Plugged in and turned on, the motor would try to run and quit ... try to run and quit ... try to run and quit ... rinse and repeat etc etc.

So I took the vac apart enough to get to the motor.
I was able to observe arcing and sparking ... motor is faulty.
Could just replace the motor but other parts of the vac are old and worn too.
Think it would be best to just replace the vac.

Nope. Twice each week :ROFLMAO:

You know something weird about this round of Covid? (I've only had it once before) My emotions have been affected; I cry at the drop of a hat.
Anyone else have that when you had Covid?
awwwwww.. 🤗 🤗 . no, I don't remember feeling like that when I got Covid. My overwhelming memory of it was being Ffffreeezing cold... it was like my whole blood stream had frozen...nothing would warm me....

Deck got painted Fri,. yesterday it threatened rain but didn't until sometime early this morning.

Yesterday, I visited 3 stores, bought a small houseplant, a plant stand, a door mat, a box for my remote, phone, glasses etc for the coffee table. Finally, some groceries.

Today, I don't want to do anything except surf, watch TV, re-heat yesterdays leftovers for supper. Nothing major needs to be done in the house, just some usual picking up.

Got this last night, DGS and DGGS practicing for Thanksgiving already!

OMG...how cute they are!

Today I finally made the Bisquick Impossible broccoli pie that I’d been wanting for the past few weeks. I didn’t use Bisquick, just regular flour and it came out good. The crust was a little soft but I’ve found that’s what happens when I make it in the NuWave oven. It was good just the same so I intend to make it more often. But it was just a tad saltier than I like so I’ll tweak the recipe just a bit more (already tweaked the original) next time. I think since I used lemon pepper instead of pepper, I can add less salt.
