I did pick up a pack of 10 huge chicken legs on sale yesterday into my very large crock pot with water and cooked on low overnight. This is for my dog.

This morning I cleaned it all up, strained the broth to chill so I can easily take off the fat. Dog had a super dinner of warm chicken, a bit of oatmeal cooked in broth and a spoonful of pumpkin.

I'm going to get rid of this crock pot. It's too heavy for me! DGS has one but his wife doesn't like food cooked in it, and I'm not crazy about it either. DIL has one- everybody has one or doesn't like them. I'll donate it.

I'll just simmer smaller amounts of chicken legs for dog in future.

Hopefully my plumber will come today to replace the downstairs toilet and flange today. Many of these condos have this same problem.

Your little doggy leads a very good life.

I have an old one. The round pottery style with a real glass lid. It’s from the 80s, or maybe even the 70s. I can’t remember not having it. Some meals are better done in the new wider models. I keep mine mainly for chilli, or maybe baked beans. If it ever breaks, it won’t be replaced.

I only use my crockpot now if it's something very big. Otherwise the instant pot has a slow cook feature.
Your doggy loves you I'm sure!

They think you're going to get it. We might get some but not like the last one. And, go to the store before all the bread is gone. 😉
Been to the store and bought bread flour and yeast. DD said she has honey. Going to make French bread.

I have pinto beans soaking and pre-made cornbread mix in the frig. 🍛
DH's favorite meal!
My favorite way to eat pintos and cornbread is to put the cornbread in the bottom of a bowl and ladle pintos on top. Yum!

@Trila Make today a day of rest so your mama can go out again tomorrow;)

@hawkdon Early to bed, early to rise, makes us too tired to stay up late enough to sleep longer:);)

@hollydolly DH was my go-to fixer when my laptop or phone got wonky. Grateful now for DSIL or I'd be outta luck.

We went to Aldi and to Publix, foraged for food and laid in supplies for the next few days in case it really does get cold and rainy. Right now they're telling us to expect 4-10" of rain through Saturday.

Also right now, it's hot and sunny.

BTW, three months from today is Christmas Eve. Jussayin'

My o/h was the fixer of mine... now it looks like I'm going to have to get someone in... I just can't access 90 % of the computer at all...

for me a house is not complete without a crockpot and a dog or two or three, in my case!! LOL

Well whooodewhoo and all that jazz..I've managed finally to get a new version of firefox installed on my computer.. the trouble is I've lost every one of my bookmarks, because this a different version and I can't the old version...

Fortunately for me I have kept a PDF copy of them inn my documents..well at least up to last month, so I'll get them and see if I can somehow transfer them to this new version...

How long this is going to last I don't know because it may have been a firefox problem or it could be a problem with my MAC..I'll just have to wait and see...hopefully it was firefox.. but it actually stopped me getting into everything even clicking on links to my websites in my emails.. just wouldn't open the links, never seen anything like that before

I was eating dinner in front of the tv about 7.30pm.. TV was on loud cuz I was at the far end of the room. It was a rerun of Cheers, and Carla was messing about with the phone calling someone at the bar.. and the phone was ringing for a long time, before I realised it was mine ringing in the hall..

It was DD, and she shouts ''can you hear me''..?.. I said yes I can hear you.. she said ''Thank Goodness, because I've just fixed the connection to my car and the phone''

Apparently this was a very rare problem that can go wrong between her phone and her car.. and it's taken her a week to track it down, and repair it on one of the batteries.. but she's done it.. she's very smart my daughter.. (y)

We're battening down the hatches here today in preparation for torrential rain, wind, nasty weather for the next few days. Right now there's only a flood watch, but it'll turn to a flood warning soon.

I'll be cooking and baking today. It's what I do when the weather is ugly.

DS turns 63 today. How the heck did that happen?

ETA: Don't forget that Christmas 🎄 is just three months from today. If you want my list, PM me:ROFLMAO:

Everyone in the path of this storm, be safe! I haven't looked at the weather yet this morning.

It's gloomy here like fall days are sometimes. Yesterday was the first time I heard crunchy leaves blowing across a parking lot when I got my crown yesterday.
They have a TV while you wait for it to be made in office. I watched Hocus Pocus which I'd never seen so it was a definite seasonal feel. 🍁

Well, like @Georgiagranny, I’m in storm prep mode…

Been to the grocery store for non-perishables (only pleasantly busy right now— massive crowds will probably happen later. ). Bought a couple extra flashlights last night

Will freeze what I can that’s in the refrig and try to finish up fresh stuff that can’t be frozen

Getting buckets ready to collect rain water to flush the toilets just in case

Having my car oil changed

Will bring in the lawn chairs and pull the bins up on the car port

Check on Ed and make sure he has what he needs

Everyone be safe !!

I used my S.A.D. lamp for the first time today. Last year could not use it as cats were kittens and too rambunctious. Has been very overcast for last 3 days, and in the sixties. Used it for the required 20 minutes. It does feel good. Have to use it in private, away from cats (wish I thought of that Last Year!) and also use time to meditate with eyes open, as they must be open for the Light to work. Will do this every morning from now on because..........Winter Is Coming.

Hm. Now the weathernerds are saying that the hurricane in Cancun is going to affect us more than first thought. Like with winds up to 50-60mph? Yeah, that'll affect us. DD and I have battened down the hatches.

The French bread is just okay, but considering that it's the first time I've tried it, I'll give myself a break. Meatball soup is done and actually quite tasty. The gang can chow down whenever they're ready. Lunch? Dinner? I dunno. It's up to them. My work in the kitchen is done for today.

ETA: Nope. Not done in the kitchen for the day. There are dishes to wash

And I'm gonna do laundry today instead of tomorrow just in case we lose power. Not really likely, but possible, and one needs clean unders, right?

Frozen water?
How many of you freeze water in plastic quart bottles for drinking?
Or to keep freezer cool?

NW PA had a lot of electric lost, one Summer.
Milk bottles, plastic water bottles were used to freeze water in.

Flash lights in the bathroom for those time you'd forget no electric.

Everyone sounds like they are ready to battle whatever weather comes at them.

Best of luck,,,, stay safe,,, love ya all.
Hurry back & let us know you won the battle of the storm :) 🥰

This has been a terrible day... The comuter is almost dead.. depsite my attempts at fixing it yesteray and it showing some kind of life, but it's gone mad, and won't let me send emails.. or reply to them, or even recieve some of them. It won't let me click on links in the emaisl which is a major problems because I have to spek to my lawyer through a portal which is linked in evry email she sends.. and I an't tell her there's a problem because it won't let me emaill.. you get the picture ?

In the meantime I call a MAC repairer who is local.. he's got nice reviews from a couple of celebrities that we know very well.. and he was as rude as could possibly be.... I couldn't believe my ears.. he was ranting about it being ''My fault'' that my computer is running wrong.. because I do regular updates and this just a con from Apple to ruin the computer and get us to buy new.. and How I should have known this, and literally said to me ''You buggered your own computer and now you want somebody to fix it ''?

I was in shock.. then he said.. well if I do come out I'll be charging £390 call out and £90 per hour after that.. and there's no guarantee I can fix it''.. oh and '' I don't do software repairs.. I can simply change your harddrive and your computer will run 5 times faster than before but it will be wiped clean of everything.. so you'll lose photos, emails.. everything''.. you'll have to download them yourself..

..and btw you've used up 20 minutes of my time already on the phone, fortunately for you I won't charge you for that...

Well I was in shock..I said to him you have a terrible attitude, I wouldn't use your services if you were charging a penny for them..

So..I rang someone else, and he does do Software repairs, and he charges £90 per hour.. he said it probebly will only take an hour.. and he's coming out Saturday morning.. so fingers crossed.. but in the meantime, if you don't hear from me, you'll know my computer has died

While all that was going on My lawyer says that if we continue with this maintenance suit against my husband, we have to go through the courts, because he's clearly ignoring us, and his own lawyers, so there's no other way of doing it otherwise and that will cost me upwards of £10k.. and we have to do it ASAP...

So... I've had a terrible day....
