What exercise have you done today?

It's just been so nice to quiet my mind for that hour. -- I really need to get back to yoga.
It's what I miss most about not being able to exercise much anymore. I also liked that, along with all the "don't" involved in tryinto lose weight , exercise was a nice "do."
I have been doing gentle exercises with 5 lb. weights. It has aggravated the arthritis in my shoulder. It is getting harder to find solutions that don't make matters worse. My blood thinner is good for my heart but terrible for my gut. Just venting because I want to!
That's how I tore my rotator cuff, doing too many enthusiastic arm exercises. That was almost all of my ten-minute workout because I walk with a cane so can't do any walk/jog aerobics these days.

Yesterday morning I suddenly got fed up with trying for three years to get someone to come and pressure wash my porches, walks and driveway. So I called a rental place that brought out a pressure washer and left it for 24 hours. ($190) I stood and used that thing for 8 hours with just a short lunch break. Hubs and son got home and did an hour each to finish it off.

Along with the new shrubs we had put in last fall, it looks like we live in a brand new house.

I am so sore.

I understand you being sore Della... my hands tonight ( I have OA in my hands anyway).. but from gripping the paintbrushes today trying to get it all done as quickly as possible.. my hands are absolutely killing me.. never beeen this painful, I can't even grip a pen..

I am the person who paints the dreaded fences every other year and I don't remember my hands ever being this painful afterwards

Exactly! My legs and my back were sore and I was afraid I might have flared up my shoulder, but the pain in my hand from holding and pressing the handle all that time was what almost stopped me halfway through the job.
It's amazing how long it takes to powerwash the driveways et al.. About 3 years ago I did all of mine , and aside from the horrendous noise from the karcher, it takes hours to do... I've noticed evrything is starting to look like it needs doing again, and I keep putting it off for that reason..lol

Most pressure washers have a trigger lock that you can engage to the lock on or lock off position. With the lock on you don't have to oporate the trigger handle constantly with your hand, just pu the trigger lock on and direct the spray where you want it to go. There are many variations of the locking mechanism. Examine the handle area closely to see if there's a button or other suck part near the trigger on the handle of your unit that is in fact the trigger lock or ... look it up for your model using your internet search engine.

Thanks Mr. Pants. This one was rented from a company in town and the lock-on thing seemed to be broken. After a while I figured out how to tie it with a piece of ribbon so it would stay on. I left that ribbon on it for the next person, I hope they didn't throw it away.

Yesterday I did 20 minutes of upper body toning and 20 minutes of gentle yoga stretch. My body felt so much better after the yoga.

Today, I am planning 20 minutes of lower body toning and 20 minutes of yoga.

EDIT: I've done my 30 minutes of lower body toning and I feel better for it. Yoga later.

I'm not going to post about this every day, but I am going to try to be as consistent as I can with it as it does make me feel better and that is, ultimately, the goal.

Yesterday I got my bike out for the first time. It’s been so cold this spring. It’s a recumbent three-wheeler. Well, apparently, someone has been setting the resistance on my indoor exercise bike too low as my legs were burning after just 30 minutes. I live alone, so it must be the same gremlins who mess up my house.

Today it’s back to cold, windy, and rainy so back to the exercise bike. No promises on where the resistance will be. Stretching and rotator cuff exercises, too.

Cycled into town for an optician appointment and also did some stationery, etc, shopping while I was in town. Then back the long way and had an avocado and poached egg brunch in a cafe I hadn't been to before (town centre ones were all too busy). At some point I should do my biweekly exercises but don't feel like it. Tomorrow morning is the regular Sunday morning walk (5 to 6 km).

A recumbent! I like 'bents, I've had three of them (a Flevo Oke-Ja, a Challenge Mistral and a BikeE AT). The main issues for me were storage and mainly getting them fixed/serviced as bike shops don't know what to do with them. These days I have a Dutch-style upright bike.

Local bike shops here sell them, so it’s no problem getting them serviced. I bought it a couple of years before my knee surgery because I couldn’t walk very far anymore and regular bikes weren’t good for bad knees.
They actually sell folding recumbent trikes now, too.

Yesterday, I continued with toning and yoga, but as my body is very sore, I think today I'll stick with just yoga and let my muscles and joints rest.
