Forum member seriously injured

I hope this accident results in some legal restriction on driving with garments that restrict vision or physical motion, or both, which I'm sure that one did. Anyone who is so "religious" that they must wear that garment all the time should not be driving.

That's not going to happen anytime soon in the UK. Holly probably doesn't feel comfortable going into a lot of depth discussing the issue for fear of a police visit.

Those are some pictures, Holly. I would say looking at the pictures, you may have lucked out. The one thing that I thought about was the glass in the mouth. A cousin of mine had the same with the glass and ended up in emergency surgery. She came out ok, but she had a lot of pain in her abdomen from the surgery. She went home a day after the surgery.

About a week later, she woke up in the middle of the night screaming. Her husband said it scared the crap out of him. He quickly took her to the hospital where they diagnosed her with having an infection. She spent four days in the CCU and three days in the ICU and then two days in a regular private room. After that, she healed very well.

I had just come off working 5 straight days flying and was sound sleep. He called me at 4 a.m. because the doctor said her infection entered the bloodstream and she was in critical care. He needed someone at the hospital with him. I was going to tell him to call his Priest, but after I thought about it, I thought, no, I will go in, which I did. I stayed until noon and then his brother came in, so I left.

I am glad you didn’t have to go through anything like that. Will you need any physical therapy?

well I didnt get any infection in my abdomen... but the glass was imbedded in my hand and arm.. and at 2am 10 hours after the accident happened, ... 2 plastic surgeons worked to remove all the glass and save my arm..... the arm and hand are still receiving treatment.. and I have more ultra soud scans to go through in the near future

this is precisely what's happening and has been happening in the UK.... we've turned into a police state with the police on the side of the immigrants....regardless of culpability..
I hae been on the receiving end of this myself.. i won't go into the reasons why on this forum.. but believe me... it's very much a thing to keep the Indiginous masses from speaking up against the minorities for any reason whatsoever..... that's all i am willing to say on a public platform

PT believe it or not the Airbags did NOT deploy......no-one knows why
I mentioned in another post how airbags themselves can cause serious injuries or even death.

So maybe this was a blessing, especially considering the location of your worst injury?

I sincerely hope your recovery gets easier as time passes. Your strength and resilience is an inspiration to all of us(y)

I’m sure they will be looking for glass they may have missed. Glass can do a lot of damage both inside and outside. Hopefully, they won’t find any.

thank you, you're very kind... :)

Truly nightmarish, Annie and Holly. I thought England had freedom of speech - guess not.

Holly, are you feeling better? At least I hope the pain situation is under control.

we don't have freedom of speech any longer Sunny.... it's all an illusion...

yes in answer to your question...its been a month since the accident, and I'm a lot better than I was then... however, I still have very painful ribs which stop me sleeping in bed because I can't lie down.. I have to sit up... and my arm and hand atho' getting better.. and super fast according to the District nurses who come in a couple of days a week... I'm healing very fast say them.. they say I'm expecting too much given it's only been 4 weeks ....

I still can't use my right hand , in that I can't grip anything.... and I have further tests to be done... but aside from all that..I'm improving each day little by little.. thank you for asking and being my Cheerleader...

Tody the Insurance company paid out for all the groceries which were lost in the crash.... because I had cover for that up to £150..

Talk about nit-picking.. they asked me to send proof .. I told them the receipts were in the car with the groceriess and was now crushed... so they asked for my bank statement ( god alone knows what would have happened if I'd paid by cash)......

I sent them my bank statement which clearly shows that at Sainsbury I spent X amount plus £16.00 at their fuel station, and at the next door supermarket M&S I spent another X amount.. the total came to £149.. and change.... which excluded the £60 insulated trolley bag which I'd just got not long before...

Today they sent me £133.00..... they took the Fuel cost off... even tho' I'd just filled up with fuel 5 miinutes before ...

It just seemed a bit mean to me...

Inicidentally I can't remember if I already said this but if I didn't.... the accident hapened on the 49th anniversary of my first marriage.

The funny thing is when I got home from the supermarket I was going to text my first husband ( who is very poorly ) and send a joke.. I always do, because he gets horrified that so much time has passed since then and it makes me laugh...... but of course I didn't get home... and because he's so poorly... I still haven't told him about this accident...
