Pedophilia is a sickness and if you don't have that you may not judge about it

About thirty years ago a girls boyfriend abused her infant son while she was working. The child ultimately died from shaken child syndrome. The girl father (the child's grandfather) shot and killed the boyfriend. The video of the shooting was conclusive evidence against the grandfather. He was found not guilty, and the state appealed. In his second trial he was in fact found guilty and sentenced to 1 day in prison. The public was thrilled and I agree.

Has anyone here followed the Aaron Spencer case? Still ongoing. A man charged because of saving his daughter when taken by an older man.

He was charged. The trial is upcoming. Most people disagree with him being charged. While he was trying to stay behind him with his daughter, he was also on with 911 if I have my facts straight. Not like he was doing it unbeknownst and when he got the chance, and help had not arrived yet, he shot the man to save his daughter. The man had previously molested her, also if I have that right, I believe I do, and he came back after her again and took her and dad took off after him.

No one I know of disagrees with what he did, yet he was charged.

The only thing I think could affect things is he shot at him tons of times. But I think honestly that's even understandable. No jury imo is going to unanimously find him guilty.

I don't know what a DA is thinking charging him if they ever want to be elected again, if that is how it is done there.

And also? He just won the nomination for sheriff in that county probably BECAUSE of what he did.

If anyone gets a chance, look into it, google it. I didn't know about it at first but heard a lot of people referring to the case and then heard about what it was about.
 
It doesn't seem like treatment of the pedophile would be an option in at least some of the cases since it's been found that half of all pedophiles were born that way. I guess they used to think that the only reason someone would be a pedo is if someone molested them when they were children at the same age they're most attracted to now. The brain waves of normal people and pedos made that way by getting molested when they were children are the same; the born pedos have weird, alien-looking brainwaves.

Yes, guilt must be established beyond any doubt. Also children must be guarded and protected by adults who watch over them.

Here it's 15. Yes that's.. I don't know. A 16 year old with a 14 year old I wouldn't call pedofilia.

My cousin (now almost 70) was 16 and a 26 y o guy came at the door, asking her to go out. My aunt said no. That's none of your business! She may decide for herself! Nope. She's 16. We decide. Move it.

If they are sorry and want help there is. A 16 year old girl from church had been raped by her dad and he had some demons kicked out and was normal. He never went to court or anything cause she didn't go to the police, forgave him and now 30 years later she has pics of her sweet dad on her Facebook page.

When I was 4 a 12 year old did an attempt when I slept but then stopped and later tried to make up for it. I had nightmares for years, but if you believe it's a demon it's easier to forgive. You just forgive the person and hate the demon. But he stopped and it was once and he was sorry.

I think that's why I used to feel so sorry for these poor rapists. I was 19, bicycling alone in a wood at 11 pm, met an old man who didn't keep his hands with him. Don't know if it was a real rapist. I said: God is here! He got scared and didn't dare to do anything anymore and showed me the way home. LOL I said he had to go to a church and that God could surely heal him from it.

But people like Maxwell, I don't mind if they do that the O.T. way.

200 years ago (in the US), people were closer to God, practiced their faith, went to church every Sunday, husbands and wives had traditional roles, and children were treasured. After all, it wasn't uncommon to lose a third to half of them to common illnesses, and your children helped around the farm and took over the family business. And 100 years ago, more and more parents sent their kids to college so they'd have an easier life than their parents did.

In those 2 centuries, 2 of the most notorious pedophiles in America's history were arrested. Whenever they were transported from jail to courthouse and back, they had to be kept under constant police protection because droves of people wanted to kill them. Their crimes genuinely shocked and enraged people, so I don't think pedophilia was common at all back then.

I can’t speak with authority about conditions two centuries ago, but in more recent times it’s hard to see the Church as an effective safeguard against child abuse. The widespread revelations that emerged in the 1980s and beyond made clear that serious harm had occurred, and the institutional response often compounded the problem. Rather than confronting the abuse directly, Church leadership frequently denied allegations or reassigned offending priests, which allowed the misconduct to continue out of public view. Whatever the situation may have been in earlier eras, today I wouldn’t consider the Church a reliable refuge in this regard.
 
I personally don't buy the excuse that numerous offenders have been abused sexually themselves.
I think its an excuse they fall back on in hopes they get pity from it.
I don't doubt some may have been but not the numbers I see in stats. I do think there are more
born with that need in them.

Depends on the church. In one church the elder berated me that I had to be forgiving when I told him a creep bothered me. The other church, that pastor had kicked him out.

I have gone to a big church in Canada for counselling and they had a list you had to fill in and it said: If you tell us anything that is criminal we are obliged to tell the authorities.

The flip side of that is that if you don't want the rapist to get in trouble you're not gonna tell them your problems and you don't get help.

My ex was a guitar player in a small church with no structure, no elders who did counselling or anything. A dad who raped his 16 y o daughter told my ex that. My ex had no position in that church. He just picked it up cause nobody did anything and he kicked some demons out of that guy. That's why I know it.

The guy asked him himself. Years later I told this to another ex and he said: Wow. You had to tell the police! Huh? Yeah maybe you're right. Never thought of that. But if that had been the policy, like in Canada, that dad would not have asked for help and would have kept raping his daughter.

I will argue a point about this.... and it covers may forms of abusive personalities.... Many have grown up witnessing some kind of abuse and they accept it as normal so there is nothing wrong. The can gets kicked down the road.
I know of an 18 YO that hooked up with a 13 YO.... Married 78 years before Great Grandpa died.

How many people use a pity me because as excuses now days?
Society changed the when it's proper, but the body's natural stages did not change with it.
Puberty has stayed the same, it's laws that changed
 
We're speaking of evil and it has been around for thousands of years.
Anyone who takes away the innocence of children is a sick and evil person.
I don't know the answer except we need to guard our children as best we can. Teach them skills to fight and cope.
 
I do think there are a portion of some that it doesn't matter WHAT age the person is. Minor, young adult, etc. I don't think all fit the classic only a pedophile and children only fits every one of them.

I think it's dangerous to generalize because there are always one offs.

Let me put it this way--I never said this but it came from someone of my grandparent's generation and the remark was from a female older woman and she said men will put it in any hole available basically, whatever is there at the moment and there truly IS some of that. I know that sounds crass and I'm not knocking men but that's pretty much what she thought and saw her entire life. So imo SOME fit that mold.

In other words, if the only person around is a ten year old and they want some, well that's what is there. If the only person around is an adult female, and they want some, well that's okay too.

I'm not entirely sold with many things on being born with proclivities.

I don't think with true pedophilia there is any cure. So that is DIFFERENT to me. But especially back when, it just wasn't unusual that a man took his way with whatever available, with SOME men.

I'm only saying men as it IS almost always men whether against boys, girls, women, etc.

I've watched pedophilia almost tried to be normalized in the last how many years, seriously. And I believe almost all of most people don't see it or are not as worried about it as they need to be.

And we ARE seeing it in the courts and more.

On the other topic, on like a 16 year old boy with a 15 year old girl, that is not looked at the same imo and it should NOT be of course. It is not an adult taking advantage of a minor.
