2024 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

This Artic air has overtaken our area....Big Time. It was -9*F when I got up, and has risen to -3*F by noon...which may be the high today. This miserable weather will be around for much of the next week, with little or no improvement.

It started out a typical January day in New York State. About 15 minutes ago we started getting buffeting wind, now it's snowing. Some locales nearby are under a snow squall warning.

At the moment it's 6*F with winds out of the W at 12 making it -16*. It was 20* inside the barn when I cleaned the stalls an hour ago. It didn't feel that cold out, but we have a woods that block the west winds which is much appreciated this time of year.

6:30am here, has been -4 F all night. Might slowly rise as high as 10 deg but wind will pick up.

36 deg ...due to wind conditions it feels like it's 27 ( according to the weather app)... but it's very sunny....

Thermometer says it is Zero! We expect snow showers but the winds have calmed down.
Somehow I got the wet heavy snow off most of my car yesterday and sprayed Prestone antifreeze on the windshield, and I hope there is no ice under the snow that fell last night.

They expect it to be a sunny but cold day. Our road was plowed earlier, and I expect to get out of my driveway and not go too far.

Clear and on the cold of seasonable. More snow overnight, but just a heavy dusting. Just visible on lawn and deck. Will probably disappear when the sun hits is. Wind had subsided. More snow predicted to tomorrow, then a big cool-down for the weekend.

Took a walk yesterday because it was 51 and sunny. Our predicted snowfall Saturday never came. That happens a lot because the Sierra Nevada mountains are so high that frequently the precipitation never makes it over the mountains.

It's 45°F now with snow showers possible tonight and tomorrow morning. We have 72°F inside.

Current temp 3°C wind-chill -1°C. Absolutely no snow, but once again this Monday and already halfway through January 2024, but an aggressively harsh frost.
