Bathtub Party Day - December 5th

Unfortunately, I'd probably have to call the fire department to bring their giant hoist to get me out of the tub and then what would the neighbors think?

A few years ago, my mother said she wanted to take a bath instead of her usual shower and hoped I'd be able to get her out without calling the rescue squad. Come the end of the bath, I couldn't get her out. Pulling on her arms hurt her, I couldn't "cold lift" her and I thought we WERE going to have to make that call.

However, I came up with a plan and it worked! I took my jeans off and sat on the end of the tub. I soaped my legs and had her sit on my feet. I leaned over and hooked my forearms under her armpits and slid her up my legs onto my lap. Then I held her around the waist with one arm and grabbed the grab bar with the other and stood us up. IT WORKED!!

Not an elegant solution but we didn't have to call for help......

I would like to join in but all I have is a walk in shower.......:(
Walk in showers are ok but the best part of bathing in the tub is being stuck and having to call the district nurse to help me out. Happens all the time.
