Letting them attend the service is one thing. Letting them preform and let it all hang out is another. That is like letting a murder attend and kill people during the service. Or maybe a rapist can preform what he likes to do at the service. There needs to be a line drawn at some point.

Exactly the demonising of people who don't fir your narrow world view is exactly my point above. Comparing these people to murderers and rapists is - imho - despicable.
 
For me, all types of people are welcome to attend church, but I would prefer that no one at all "perform" at the front of the church.

I'm speaking in particular of all the frustrated rock stars we have at the front of so many churches today. The mega-churches usually have a stage at the front of the sanctuary full of electric guitars, drum sets, and flashy looking singers, while the congregation sits and watches them like they're at a concert.

We're all supposed to be there to worship God together not to show off our individual talents or how good looking we are, or in this case, how fabulous we look in drag.

I would say the same thing to drag queens, strippers, actors and vocalists. Come in, sit down in the pew, and worship with us. Do your act in your own time.

Hear ; Hear - they've crossed the line - they are now worshiping themselves and perhaps Mammon? I think you will find the 'church' defines us NOT us defining the church
 
Mary Magdalene was a woman whom Jesus cleansed of "seven demons" probably what we would call a mental illness today.
 

Might this explain the particular church involved, that they are all inclusive and welcome all people regardless of their beliefs and life experiences? I see nothing wrong with it at all, just something certain people will give an excuse to be outraged about. How about live and let live?

Well, after reading the article, I see that it was an organized event by the church and the Reverend of the church so whom am I to judge ? I understand that certain religions and churches have a certain tradition to follow but I didn't realize that there was an official proclamation that ALL churches and religions had to follow the same traditions. I bet that (gasp) those who choose to attend this service actually had a fun time !

Funny thing is I bet that this particular churches congregation welcomes all to their service and excludes no one.

The Unitarian religion has been a welcoming and safe place for the LGBTQ community for many years. Having a drag queen event was a logical next step, I suppose. My own reaction would depend on what kind of a service it was. An Easter service with a drag queen dancing down the aisle and grabbing "her" breasts seems to be carrying it a bit too far, and aiming for shock value. But I wasn't there, and maybe you have to get the whole picture in order to have an opinion.
 
Although the Unitarian religion started out as a liberal Christian denomination, it eventually merged with the Universalist church and they now call themselves UU's. It is not a Christian religion; in fact, there are many Jews and people of other backgrounds who migrated to it. I would call it more a religion for agnostics and political liberals.
