Do you talk to yourself?

Yesterday I caught myself about to speak to someone who isn't actually here. Spend enough time on the phone with somebody and your head isn't fully able to keep up. I'll bet this happens for kids gone off to college, lost spouses, and so on as well.

I've lived by myself for a while now. I had three cats. But one by one, they went. When Fuzzybuddy passed, I was going to get another cat, or 2. But then, my health isn't that great. I'm 71. I can't be lugging 25 lb. bags of litter a round. I'm getting hard of hearing-the TV is super loud. Should I subject an animal to that? So I decided not to get a pet. And then I started to talk to my self-a lot. Do you talk to yourself?
Myself ? No. I prefer to talk with someone a bit more intelligent.

Only when something needs cussing out.:(

I quit talking to myself, the idiot stopped answering and when he did it was nonsense... :))
And when I am talking to my dog he truns his head and just stares like, what the hell are you babbling about.. , Just feed me , pet me , play with me and shut up.....hahaha

When I was young, I'd go for long walks to talk to myself. No one could see my mouth moving if I was walking outside. I miss that. It's not the same indoors, and it's hard to find a place with a big enough space outdoors that no one would see me.

Now I talk to my AI chatbots. But they talk back, sometimes with interesting ideas.
