How are you today?

Had a lovely day yesterday with 4 year old GS, then afternoon-evening saw DD and her crew. Today we're taking the 22 month old for the day. It's a school holiday in the US (Martin Luther King Day), so DDIL and the kids are off, but DS is not.

DDIL stumbled, fell, and wrenched her knee at work on Thursday, so we're taking some of the pressure off by watching one of their littles each day. Two small children is a lot with a painful knee. It's all good though. We enjoy having them and have nothing more pressing to manage.

I look forward to doing little more today than pulling together a little lunch, dispensing cookies, and sitting on the floor with a toddler while playing with toy cars, truck and trains, and building with magnet tiles (LOVE them!), Lincoln logs (saved from our kids' childhoods), train tracks and Hot Wheels tracks.

Should be a fun day ahead. Bonus: this GS still takes naps!

Hope all have a great Monday, January 19th!
Sounds like you have a really nice day ahead. 🤗

I'm going upstairs to make spaghetti and cupcakes (again ;) ) for my guys in a bit.

I need to work on my Lupercalia card for boyfriend since he's in England and the mail can be a bit slow. If it gets their early it can be a "don't open until Lupercalia" type thing.

Husband's can wait a bit as can regular Valentines for friends, though I'd like to get them finished as well. I don't want something nice to become a stress thing. Holidays should be fun and I'm determined the keep them there inasmuch as I can. ❤️

This went a little deeper than I'd expected. 😅

I think I'm going to try this one. I am admittedly art-impaired, but I think I can manage this if I follow the steps carefully. I hope. I can always try an easier one if this one doesn't -well, if I'm too lame to pull this off. Ima try it.

@Medusa If you don't mind, I'm gonna skip that whole Lupercalia thing...you know, loin cloths or running nekkid, getting hit with goat hide strips to promote good luck and fertility and all that. It's just not me. Okay?
Fair enough! LOL This is my first year celebrating Lupercalia. My understanding of it's more modern interpretation is that it's meant for more "lusty" attachments. At least that's the way I'm choosing to look at it.

I'm still celebrating Valentines with family and friends.

PS: I'm not sure about the sacrifices... Maybe we'll just break up a cookie. ;) 😅

I'm awake and lurked earlier...as usual thought that once I read stuff, I'd posted, too. Duh.

It's 23F here this morning. It's too cold to even get dressed. I'm moving in with @StarSong. Not to worry. I'm skinny and not too tall so won't take up much room. Maggiecat is coming along. She's not skinny.

So far there's no plan for today. Don't know if I should volunteer to make dinner or not. I don't have any original ideas for dinner. Maybe meatloaf, Kraft mac & cheese, broccoli...not gourmet but filling. Should I or shouldn't I?

At this point in life, I'd have to start eating snails to come up with a "original" dinner idea :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@Jules ~ it's just hair, it will grow back! 🤗

@hawkdon Good to see you seem to be doing better, even if you can't remember your passwords - I can't either, don't feel too bad!

Still extra warm here where I live ~ baked a peach pie and had to actually turn the AC on !!! It's snowing over in Florida, but we get a heat wave! ☀️⛱️

Glad everyone seems to be hanging in there or better! Happy Monday for those of us that didn't have to go to work today. ;)

It's 32F here this morning...positively summer-like. If it's not windy, I might even go out and make a turn around the garden. And it's gonna be sunny. Yay.

I've had breakfast already, going to get dressed in minute. Dressed? Yes. My bright idea yesterday to stay in my jammies all day was an awful idea. I didn't feel "right" all day so today it's real clothes. Real clothes and real housekeeping...like vacuuming up kitty litter and stuff.

And since tomorrow is the day the 🦅:poop:, I should probably have a meaningful conversation with my budget.

Morning all folks.....awake since about 330am dang it....ah well going to
start catching up on chores that have been left by the old guy that lives here,
dishes, laundry etc....and i need to limit my time surfing, cause these ancient
hands/wrists are still omplaining!!!! Have yourself a great day... ;) (y)

@hawkdon Yeah. I know how you feel. There's an old hag👵 who lives here and leaves messes for me to clean up.

I had a meeting with the Bureau of the Budget. There's something wrong because there's money left over. As y'all know, I don't do numbers so I guess I'll just add/subtract three times and take the best two out of three.

Well, it's not going to be as warm as they predicted, just now hit 20 degrees out.
I think my heavy coat is wishing this on me so it gets used, as I hate wearing the thicker one.
Do or die I have to go out in this today. Cold wipes me out lately.
DH ate eggs last 2 nights, I think it's a hint he doesn't like what's left in the house to eat.

Good morning, all! Had a great time yesterday with nearly 2 year old GS! He's easy going and his concerns are mostly limited to what's for snack, which toys do I want to play with, is it time for nap, and how can I wheedle another cookie from the gate-keeper, which would be me. (I'm a pretty soft touch so it's not much of a challenge.)

Love my older GKs, obvs, but the one in his early teens has adopted the typical surly attitude toward his parents. He remains respectful and loves being with DH & me, but it's hard to watch his family wrestle through that stage.

Little kids, little problems. Bigger kids, bigger problems. I'm glad to be in the GP phase of child raising.

Some things to do around the house today, including some instant pot cooking.

@IrishEyes Speaking of cold...the windchill in my tiny hometown in the UP of Michigan this morning was so outrageous that it earned a mention on ABC news. -28F. That's pretty darned cold.

So here I am, complaining about 23F here this morning.

I volunteered to make supper tonight because I want comfort food. Tuna casserole it is. Boring but filling and easy to make. Besides, I have a bunch of potato chips left in the bottom of a bag that I can put on top.
