Bird baths are frozen solid. At least it quit snowing and blowing and the sun is out.
Staycation is over:>( Back to the daily rut. It could be worse. Lots worse.
Smoke larm went off when auxilliary heat kicked in. Just dust on the coils. It freaked Izzi out. SO left the garage heat and all towel warmers on. That makes a big difference.
All Amazon deliveries are delayed due to weather up North. I need to find out how to appeal a Medicare income assessment. Has anyone done this successfully?

Interesting day. In the 30s, mixture of snow and rain, looks terrible out. Everything cancelled.

I cleaned out and reorganized my closet and chest of drawers this morning. Now goofing off on X, Facebook and SF. Have to start using my time more constructively this afternoon.

Well..finally, got my car... he called at 1.30pm, and said it was ready, but the problem is I had to get a bus and they're only every hour... so there wasn't another one until 45 minutes later..

The weather is awful.. some places are reporting snow thicker than they've ever seen... and here in this town which seems to have escaped the snow today... it's been torrential rain and floods everywhere..

I had to go from the garage and drive into North London, and get the grocery shopping.. well of course it was almost dark by then, can't see the standing water on the motorway....rush hour build up.... nightmare..

I've got to go to hospital tomorrow.. to have my anaesthesia assesment in readiness for my surgery later this month... so wanted to get the groceries today and not worry about it tomorrow.. ..but going late in the day amid the chock-a-block trafic and in the dark is no fun

Last April DGS bought a right-hand drive car online from a dealer in Japan. It was supposed to be here in July, was delayed to August, September, then November, then "finally" scheduled to arrive Christmas Day. It got to the Calfornia port December 26 and was to be released December 27. He flew out there to fetch it. After all kinds of red tape and various and sundry delays, he finally got his hands on it today around 3 Pacific time. Today is January 6. He and two friends (who are helping to share the drive back) have gassed up that sucker and are on their way home. At last.

DS stood in line in the cold this morning with hundreds of others to say his goodbyes to President Carter before the body is flown to Joint Base Andrews and taken to the Capitol to lie in state.

I spent the day sitting on my dead center, still binge watching Desperate Housewives.

Well, we've been finding a small pool of water on the kitchen floor off and on for the past week or so. No indication whatsoever where it is coming from. Nothing dripping from the ceiling. Nothing running across the floor, just the puddle on the tile floor.

I first suspected it might be the refrigerator, but there was no water at any time in the grout lines leading up to the puddle, just the puddle. I pulled out the refrigerator to see if the water connection was leaking. Absolutely no indication of water. I know that because I was embarrassed at how much dust was behind and under the refrigerator and there were no water runnels through the dust. No water standing in the refrigerator, no water in the pan, bottoms of both doors were dry.

So we called a plumber. Plumber said he'd come out sometime today with his detection equipment and see if he could find anything. Service call was $75. He came out, heck of a nice guy, checked everything, couldn't find anything. He was as puzzled as we were. He said the puddle area must be the lowest spot in the kitchen. Didn't charge us the $75. Did I mention he was a nice guy?

So, tonight I scattered baking soda all around the area where the puddle has been (same spot each time). Hopefully if the water is running from somewhere instead of just miraculously appearing out of nowhere, the water lines will show up. Maybe we have a poltergeist who likes water? I've lived in a haunted house before, I guess I can stand it again......

What is a right hand drive car? I'm sure when you tell me I'll feel foolish but go ahead anyway........🤔

Good morning, boys and girls. It could be that my Self has decided to get back to a regular (for me) sleep schedule. I was awake just before 6 without help from Maggiecat.

Our chances of sNOw at the end of the week are increasing . I am not pleased. This morning it's cold at 28 and not expected to get to 50 today. At least it's going to be sunny.

Since we didn't go to Goodwill or to Walmart yesterday, I'm hopeful that we'll go today. I need an excuse to wear my new winter jacket, and there's stuff I wanna get from Walmart. Besides, my behind is getting sore from sitting in front of Desperate Housewives all day long.
