27F here, won't go above 35. No snow predicted. Yet. Living in New England, I know better than to feel complacent about weather conditions.

Yesterday, cleaned a cabinet with glassware and set aside 10 glasses to give away or toss. They're too wide near the bottom to hold w/o pain d/t arthritis in my thumbs.
Put my new ones (8) in and still have 4 others that are ok.

Nothing else going on here.

Yes, plenty, but I have a lot of windows. I also think my use of blood thinners is making me feel colder. 🥶
I have lots of windows too..but they're double glazed ... and my computer is right next to the window. I don't have any heating on today..not cold enough today.. I don't put it on until its freezing.. because of the high cost

I think you should investigate the blood thinners.. also get yourself wrapped up like me.. several layers...

My neighbor lady is same age as DH and I; 70 this year. She is a lovely Korean woman who has worked like a dog all her life, as an immigrant in 1980 to NYC. She moved to Tucson only 4 years ago to "retire". Bought her house for cash: no small feat at 300K. She saved every dime she could make, working 14-16 hour days in NYC, owned a "Sandwich Shop".

She still works two days a week, usually Sat and Sun for "play money and to stay busy"; making Asian food for a major supermarket deli. One of her co-workers is taking off her shift of Mon-Fri for vacation the next two weeks. So my neighbor is picking up ALL those shifts for two weeks for her.

So I decided to cook for my neighbor last night, so she would not have to fix her own dinner and eat alone.
Pot roast, carrots, celery, mashed potatoes and gravy. Cherry cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

She asked me why "The special dinner tonight?".
I said: "Because you are a special person, you've work so hard all your life and never complain."

She just beamed and got tears in her eyes. We understand each other. It felt right.

Not as cold here as it has been in the early morning...40. Not expected to get to 50 today, coming week predicted to be very cold. We aren't getting any of the rain/sNOw/ice until maybe Friday when the forecast is up in the air (pun intended).

DD is going to Goodwill to drop stuff off today. I probably won't go if picking up DGD from BF's is included in the trip. If BF is bringing her home later today, I'll go along just to get out of the house.

@Trila, wudju mind bringing your woodstove over here?

@hawkdon Stay inside and stay warm! It's okay if you wanna poke your head out the door and leave some tasty tidbits for the critters so they won't be hungry and cold. Finding a place to hunker down won't be as hard as finding food in the sNOw.

@hollydolly A friend who's willing to be late to work to help you? That's a friend for sure!

Last night our family (DH & I, plus the kids and grands) finally celebrated Christmas Day. Lots of fun, nobody was sick - hallelujah - and the traditional Mexican Christmas menu was a hit. I sent some of the leftover tamales home with the kids, and stashed most of the rest in the freezer.

A business graphics project is on my agenda today. This annual order typically requires 6-8 hours of my time so I tend to break it up over a couple of days. I don't mind doing it - we continued with only the parts of our business we enjoy.

When my eyes start crossing I'll move on to something else and return afresh tomorrow.

Not sure when DH & I will start packing up Christmas decorations, but it surely won't be today. Other than the project, I'm expecting a calm, relaxing day.

If you take the woodstove, you get me with it!

I love new glass ware!

 Went to install my new radiator and discovered they sent the wrong one. Now, have to wait til tomorrow to return, then wait for the replacement.
Meanwhile, I have decided on some more parts for my other project. Going to use the collapsible stock and the 16" carbine barrel. :)

What are you shooting: hogs or alligators? (wink)

Cold and sunny here. Swam 25 laps (not quite 3/4 mile) in a heated outdoor pool, but it was still cold. Now getting ready to go to the museum with my wife to see an exhibit of Hungarian photographers who emigrated to the US in the 30s. TV football later. They are telling us to get ready for a storm tonight.

@StarSong Leftover tamales? What? Those two words don't go together. Ever.

@Trila You can come, too, if you bring 🐐man and Goob🐈‍⬛ along. I have a few little chores that 🐐man can do, and Maggiecat needs to learn to play with others. You and I can sit around and eat bonbons and watch more episodes of Desperate Housewives.
We had 36 large tamales plus appetizers and side dishes. Ten people aged 8 and over, plus two littles in the toddler/baby age group. Not sure even Joey Chestnut's family could have consumed all that in one sitting.

We bought extras to have some to share and some to freeze.
