My people are in Colorado and Michigan..we have kids and grandkids scattered in 5-6 different states. I could live in Colorado as both my sisters are in Southern Colorado, and my youngest son, but DH doesn't want to try living in Colorado due to the cold and I don't need to due to the cold there...but I do like the dry air and state of Colorado. DH thinks it is going too liberal.

My building plans here (which I'd drawn up and paid to have done up into building plans) was for a main house with two master bedrooms plus an independent casita near the main house. I was going to offer two suites for aging widows or widowers for some income. Now will be looking for an already built place on acreage like we had bought here to build on. Just getting stressed over selling both this home and the 4 acres here in Tucson. P

Good morning, boys and girls. Are we all in our places with bright, shiny faces?

It's going to be a glorious sunny and warm day here with a high temp in the 70s. Yay.

Gotta get dressed and get outside to spread lawn soil and grass seed. Every year I say this is the last time I reseed the lawn. Well. This year really is the last time. It's getting to be just too darned hard to get it done. The fungus needs to stay the h*ll away this year.

Forty-five days until spring (except here where it gets warmer sooner than most other places).

ugh
Starting out 3 weeks sick! First two weeks was flu, this is not. This is bad upper respiratory infection. At least I had a great Saturday, but I must be better for Wednesday with grandson. If not better, than just being alive will do.
ugh

Have very very important Telehealth meeting with shrink at 10am. My professionals are all up to par people, it is their patient, me, who is the mess.

🎶I get by with a little help from my friends🎵

Uh oh this sounds familiar. There is a long dose of flu going around.

It does warm up quicker here. February and March can have some of the best temps!

It started as a really foggy day and has morphed into a grey day..if this was the first time I'd ever visited the UK, I wouldn't come back again...:D

My new Blue chair has been delivered.. the bloke lifted this chair which by the way is very heavy.. all by himself out of his van, his instructions are to leave these things on the doorstep... but he was kind enough to bring it right into my livingroom for me when I asked ...

I've just got to unbox it all now...

I'm feeling a bit rubbish because I fell asleep at 11.30 ish last night, and woke at around 1am.. and that was me awake until 7.30am this morning. I knew the chair was coming today so I didn't dare go to bed, or I would have gone into a really deep sleep and not heard the delivery driver, so I sat on the sofa, and slept there for 3 hours... and now at racing towards 2pm I feel really drained of all energy...

If I hadn't written it down on my calendar, I would have forgotten our 48th wedding anniversary. OK, a dozen roses and taking her out to a show.
BTW, my first marriage lasted only one year. After our divorce we vacationed in Europe, but it was too late. We split as friends. I had learned a lot, and the second time around it worked out much better.

Left: 4/10th inch of rain is in the forecast, but we are still stuck in a mega drought. With rain also come cold temperatures.
Right: a Monarch butterfly keeps me company while working in the garden; and of course, me three pups are always watching me.

Left: I wish I still had the energy to prune all of our trees like this one. At the bottom left is our pet cemetery with the signs of our dearest pups.
Right: While my daughter has been working in mainland China for over ten years, her 2008 Toyota Yaris is waiting for her. And yes, she did the decoration by herself. She always wanted to become an artist but didn't quite make it.

🎼 Monday, Monday! 🎶

Not sure what today will bring, but had a great day yesterday with TGS. Among other things, it was his first time riding the balance bike we gave him for Christmas. This one lives here - his parents also gave him one.

We went for a long walk and he was such a trouper, staying on the bike the whole way. I'd expected to be carrying it from the halfway point forward, but he stuck with it and was smiling the whole way. ❤️

Hope all have a lovely day!

Today is my first appointment for treatment for throat cancer after the endoscopy. I don't know if it's gonna be Chemo or radiation, but I have several different oncology appointments every day this week. Even a barium swallows. I just know a have a meeting with a team of doctors. If anyone has been this, please let me know what to expect.

Last night as I was getting ready to go to sleep (sitting up in bed playing a game on my kindle, a little after 1:30 AM) I heard a sudden loud rush of water. I could not tell exactly where it was but I didn't see any water (in the beginning). I called the community gate house (they coordinate after-hours emergencies), but then I told them maybe someone was taking a really hard shower above me and that I'd call back in ten minutes if the loud roar of water continued.

Well, five minutes later I saw water starting to seep in under the baseboards so I called back and they sent one of the community security guys to check. He showed up in a few minutes but by then already the water was drenching the carpet in the bedroom closet and into the bedroom. Also the outside hallway carpet was becoming drenched between my apartment and the neighbor to the south, so they knocked on her door (probably a bit after 2 AM by then). They found that the hose pipe to her toilet tank had broken (clean water), so the security guy turned off the little water shut off knob and that stopped the flood.

It seems she had been woken up by the problem but was at a loss of what to do and had called the person in the apartment across from hers for help (that person was also befuddled by the problem, judging by the sotto voce grumbling of the security guy about people that are not all there, ha ha).

The security guy called the on-call building engineer and by the time he showed up (around 2:30 AM) his attention was first distracted by smoke coming from the apartment of the person across the hall, who it turned out had left something cooking when she went to help (smelled like VERY burning toast, and the smoke had already set off the smoke alarm in the hallway - in imminent risk of setting off the entire building fire evacuation alarm).

I had a new carpet shampoo-er still in its unopened box since Black Friday Amazon shopping in November, so at 2:30 in the morning I was trying to quick read the assembly instructions, what fun (not!). I got it together and sucked at the wet carpet till 3:30 AM. Around 3 AM the building engineer had come to my apartment and told me that a water recovery/restoration company had been called and that I should expect them to show up soon.

Since my carpet cleaner (only using the suction action) was making very little headway in spite of me having to dump its dirty water tank many times, I finally gave up.

Around 4:20 AM the building engineer came back to tell me that the recovery people would not show up until 7 AM. So, after another hour-plus of wind-down time, cereal and more games on my kindle, I went to sleep for a couple hours. They didn't show up until 9 AM (which was a relief for me because I'd turned off the alarm at 7 and fallen back asleep until 8:30).

The recovery people ran some sort of scanner, took a bunch of pictures, moved my bed and bedroom desk (I'd already carried everything out of the closet last night), did water extraction, then set up a mystery machine that has plastic water tubing taped on/into my bathroom sink (I'm guessing it is a giant dehumidifier), and set up several special floor fans that are LOUD (and they unplugged a bunch of my stuff so these could all be plugged in).

Then they told me they would come back in three days (!!!!) to check whether these actions were sufficient or if they need to remove baseboards and carpet.

I'll have been driven mad by the loud fans by then I think (tho the guy did show me how to turn them off if I felt I needed quiet to sleep). And I suppose they won't want me spitting toothpaste all over their plastic tubing that is taped into the bathroom sink, so I guess I'll be using the kitchen sink for the next several days. At least I still have toilet and shower functioning. And the maintenance person last night told me there would be no bill for me because the neighbor would be responsible for it. I feel sorry for her, but hopefully she has homeowner insurance (we are all required by the condo rules to have it anyway).

So that's how my day has been.
