We got snow in DeKalb County and are advised to stay off the roads. The temp will be slightly above freezing for about two hours this afternoon. I am hoping to get out to the pharmacy.

I also use coleslaw mix for various hot dishes. Why not?

I like fried cabbage and use coleslaw mix for it. Actually, I just did! It's today's lunch.

I usually throw a handful of coleslaw mix in with a pot of soup.

My mother used to make a roux, add some milk to make a white sauce, mix it in with chopped cabbage and a little onion, bake it in the oven. It was one of my favorite veggies. Until just now, I'd forgotten about it.

I read somewhere is Velveeta is not cheese, is that correct ?... we don't have it here

Am really envious of you getting to meet up with friends to a place ya'll have been going to for years! We moved away from our last digs in Texas, where our friends are close by. Missing those friends was one reason for deciding to put our house up for sale, here in beautiful Tucson, and move back to my DH's home state of Texas.

I too want to go have brunch or lunch with my buds and hang out in a bar for the afternoon ;) 🤣.
I always tell DH we are all going "shopping". All DH knows is "shopping" makes me very happy!

That's a shame @CooCooforCoCoPuffs I get the impression you are a sociable person. Can you not get back in touch with your friends? Will you be able to meet up with them once you are back in Texas?

To be honest, it's thanks to my former work friend who insisted we all keep in touch and, I am so glad she did as it is fun. We used to go to the Italian place when we were all working so, they are like old friends.

We did have fun today. I hope you will be able to reach out to your friends and get to hang out in a bar some time soon :)

OK, it is what it is. What happened today that made you smile? At least grin!

Here is one for everyone - SO slinked around the kitchen looking for something. You know that pantry spelunking mode? I offered to make popcorn as preventative meassure as he had not yet discovered Doritos I smuggled in for him. Big grin!

Bring out the salt and the curry and his popcorn bowl. It could double as baby bath. Fill the little machine to the marker and push the button. Hold the bowl close. It did not quit popping!!! We had a case of popcorn tribbles!!! Of course he checked on his delivery.

I am not allowed to pick on him for leaving a popcorn seed under his desk. Ashes on my head and a broom in my hand. Note to self - do not fill the little machine when you have no glasses on because the marker exists in your imagination.
