How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I'm posting about yesterday because it was such a lovely day. I got up later than planned (3:10 a.m.) but was still able to empty the litter box and gather up the garbage for my son to take out when he left for work at 3:30. I also made two prayers before sunrise. I ate breakfast and napped on and off until about 11:30. I had a “date” with my middle grandson that I had to get ready for. I loaded the dishwasher then cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom before I left.

Grandson picked me up around 1:30 and we took the scenic route around the mountain until we finally found the look out spot. He suffers from bipolar disorder and has episodes of depression. I want to spend more time with him doing pleasant, peaceful things, especially taking in nature. We had a nice conversation, as usual, while we sat there and analyzed the cloud formations, watched several planes overhead and people watched. Among them was a little girl who seemed to suddenly get scared of her cute robot dog after playing with it for a while and a lady pushing a stroller which surprised us and the man on the next bench when we saw a dog in it. GS and I made plans to do more things together in the coming weeks.

These are pictures I took of that spot when my honorary daughter (HD) and I went up there almost two years ago to watch the sunrise.

I was home for less than two hours when my HD called and said she was coming to spend the night because it will be raining in the morning. Leavinf from here shaves 13 minutes off her walk to the bus stop. I’m glad I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom before I left because I was feeling tired (or was it lazy) after I got home and just wanted to watch TV. She and I watched the latest episode of Will Trent then we all went to sleep fairly early. She was on the couch (which is very comfortable for sleeping), me in my recliner and my son went to bed. I’ll wait until later to see if I do anything worth posting today.
Pretty, peaceful spot to sit with someone you love. 🤗

Setting up a natural planted fish tank which due to plant life does not require much or any work , something you and your friends can enjoy for years to come but I have no idea how to use instagram or TikTok I had planned to use a land line phone .

Do you kids still use them ?

You will be the talk of the town with a planted tank .

Edit : Btw the choices are setting up a tank , plumbing or bad comedy but now all of a sudden you are picky ?
Oh, my...guess I am picky. None of those choices are any good. I don't do fishes or plumbing or comedy (bad or otherwise).

What else you got?

Oh, and I don't have a land line.

I think my daughter is coming down at the weekend.. yesterday she was extrememly concerned about the way I sounded on the phone.. to the point where she got her Ipad and recorded me while on the phone.. so she said she might have to come and see for herself what's going on with me....

I am a whole bunch better than I was, but clearly still not well.. still got a horrendous cough.. my voice is about 2 octaves lower than it should be , and so on.. and I run out of energy very quickly... not like me at all...

Anyway... again.. much better than I was this time last week...

I'm kinda bored, I need to write out whole bunch of accounts by hand in new ledgers.. I just don't trust the computer to keep them safe tbh... but it's going to be a huge undertaking..I get started and get a sore hand after a short time, and abandon it for another day and so it goes on.. but it has to be done at some point..

The lady needed the car today, she had a hearing test, come ear syringe, after which she went off to damage our wealth, better known as the weekly shop. Without transport I pressed the old car into service. Quite a nice day for a run out.

I too had an appointment, a dental appointment. There was a time when ancillary medical treatment was paid for on our NHS. But so many come here from abroad, get free treatment and are gone, that things like my wife's, ear wax syringe and my dental work, are all but impossible to claim for via the NHS.
Has anyone else here in the UK had any dental work done? Good grief, nowadays when they say "open wide." they mean your bank account. The treatment is far less painful than the dentist's bill.

yes I was at the dentist last month, and unless I get a toothache before, I'm due back there in May to get a tooth if not 2 removed...

I get mine all on the NHS...I did have a private dentist but his prices kept going up and up.. I just couldn't afford him in the end.. so I stay with the NHS dentist now...

right I started on the ledgers... a table full of ledgers, account books, various coloured pens... and worked for 2 hour without stopping, writing, and writing... and I don't work slowly.. yet that was the fastest 2 hours ever.. and I'd only got a third of the way through when I stopped at 11pm... cuz my hand was sore.. I'll start again tomorrow..i've left everything on the table in the livingroom, so I can't ignore it....and hopefully I'll get the financial ledger finished at least

Made a cuppa tea and it's now almost 11.30pm

Up since one am. This is not good. Upset re: death of my computer. I'll adjust. I don't do New things well. Miss my photos. I'll be ok eventually. In the meantime I Pam feeling a great loss. Sitting at my computer 😕 away heck I'm actually grieving. It will take awhile.

Looks like it's going to be a another nice day. This morning, I am planning a walk around the local market and, hopefully, a relaxing afternoon.

I am hoping that the weather will stay nice for a while and we can get to the local flea markets tomorrow, not that we intend to buy anything but, it's always nice to just browse and there are some good cafes nearby. We have received word that the escapees from the local old folks' club are planning a meet tomorrow so, we might pop down and say "hello". Nice of the old folks to invite us, maybe they want some youngsters to liven things up a bit 🤭

Have a great weekend everyone 😋

Oh it is too early for me to even type, 330am I woke for no good reason so here I sit, brain dead, 1000yard stare, wondering what i'm doing....lets see, cleaning lady comes in
today, and got a maint call last eve that he will be by to
install new mailbox in concrete so will take two trip to do

My early morning walk at 6:50 temp was 34 as I walked over to the convient store to buy local paper for myself&my friend Connie
My friend, Mary picking me up at 9:30 going on our weekly 'road trip' to local grocery store, Wegmans, need a couple of items. It's great to see her almost every wk, she gives me updates on what's going on at apt complex. All I can say I'm glad I don;t live there anymore
The rest of my day read today's NYT, take advantage of a sunny but cool spring day, temps will be in the 40's. I hope to get an afternoon walk in before dinner

Is it morning?

@hollydolly Are you feeling like your malady is going away yet?

It's going to be warmer today than yesterday but still only in the low 60s. No matter. There are gardening things that need to be done today. I'm already dressed and just putting off getting out there until the temp gets to at least 40.

I'm glad I'm not trying to fly into Heathrow today and glad that I don't live anywhere near it. That fire looks fearsome.

I did a Hawk this morning. Pouring coffee in an upside down mug does not work.
