How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I did the prep for returning the heart monitor and filled out the log of symptoms (glad I made notes in my phone because I didn’t see the log until two days ago). I also filled out the St. Jude Legacy Wall form and walked to the post office around 2:45 to mail those things.

They say "timing is everything"...and this timing was amazing. After I got back home, I prepared a snack and looked at the clock. It was 3:22. I had sent my son a Shoprite list, but hadn't sent the revision to include heavy whipping cream. Something said “call him right now before you eat.” Didn't know if he had left work yet, but when I called he was at Shoprite right at the case with the heavy cream!

HS#3 and I went back to Amazon Fresh tonight. I had forgotten to get ice cream last time and I got another can of mushroom soup (both cheaper than at Shoprite). More good timing: we got back just in time to miss the heavy rain. Now I’m catching up on threads here and Facebook. Getting ready to relax, have some ice cream and watch T.V.

I'm very alone and lonely. I wish I had just one friend to chat with but it seems that won't happen. I never thought my life would end like this but it seems
god was not availble in my case. Jesse Winchester. I've a saddness to much to be true.

Pandamonium, That is what we have here today! It has been entirely too liquid!! In other words, I have wet my pants no less than 3 times. At least, I made to a tile floor. I have also knocked over two full glasses of water in the den. The dogs are quite amused as they get in trouble for potties in the house.

This fall, this little two inch cut has really thrown me for a loop today. It is very hard to get up and walk, with any speed. The tetanus shot did not hurt yesterday. Today it hurts something fierce. Does not help that I have thrown out my shoulders using my walker. Shoulder pain equals neck pain which equals a migraine. I am also nauseous just to make sure I have my whole body covered.

I have to figure out something easy to throw in the air fryer so I get some food down. May just stick with chicken soup and crackers.

The doc gave me a new pill for sleep. It is Seroquel, and yes it does make you sleep!! Unfortunately, it made me high as well. I did not enjoy that. I will take it again tonight and see what happens. If it is the same, the high, no more. I do see the Doc next week to check the cut.
Blessed...I must've missed that you were having surgery. I pray you will recover well and start to feel better real soon.

There was some much needed rain overnight and some more showers forecast for today. While the rain is welcome, I've still got a vegetable bed to prepare for things like leeks and chard.
Yesterday, Mrs.L decided that she hadn't enough flowers for the borders, so it was off to the garden centre for a selection of colourful bedding plants. Most of these still have to be planted, but today that will depend on the weather.

I think I'll cook a paella for dinner.

I saw and brand new doctor this morning. She is a DO, and trained in Eastern medicine. She will try acupressure and acupuncture. She put 5 needles in each ear today. Not sure what it is called. It helps with neuropathy...we'll see. :)
I get similar treatments called “trigger point injections.” Unlike acupuncture, Medicare and Tricare cover this..

I just want a friend. why is that so hard to find
We're here...maybe only remote, but we're here. Be friends with us! I bet there are any number of us who are alone and lonely (me among them and I live under the same roof as my DD/DSIL/DGD...even though my space is entirely separate from theirs).

@hollydolly Our holiday weekend is starting off sunny and pleasant. We're expecting rain🌧️and storms🌦️ starting this evening with only a little sun here and there for the next week or more.

Remember yesterday I said I have a mega millions ticket and that I'm not greedy? Would settle for even a little? Yeah. Well. I won $70 in last night's drawing. I sure did! The last time I won "big" was more than 30 years ago when I won $100. (That $100 30 years ago is equal to about $200 today.) I can hardly wait until DD gets up so I can go collect my💰.

It's possible that the big bed of iris in front of the house will get cleaned out today. Then again, it's also possible that it won't. LOL

Gotta run. Need to get dressed so that I'll be ready to head over to collect my vast fortune.

...$70... brilliant.. don't go spending it all at once on flowers ..lol

Best wishes to all who are not feeling well and lonely.

I had a delivery from Home Depot but it was the wrong item. What a hassle to return wrong product and get the items I didn't receive ordered again and then getting a refund. The customer service lady at Home Depot on the Internet was really nice and explained it but I am still confused about all she said. Hopefully the local Home Depot will take care of it. :(

Nice hot sunny day again but we really need rain.

Hoping all of you will have a nice day.:)

Chasing around setting up and adjusting solar panels and doing all of the bookkeeping makes for a hobby at least as busy as gardening. Sadly, now that trees are nearly all leafed-out and we approach Summer Solstice it is already very obvious why nobody in the neighborhood has fixed rooftop solar and probably never will.

Even 9BB bi-facial, some of the most expensive and shade-tolerant of panels, the trees and number of clouded days means we can never produce 50% of household power needs. And that ignores Winter months. Projections for 5BB single-faced conventional panels are far sorrier, and can't even provide 15% of needs in the sunnier months.

I haven't even tried to calculate how many years it takes to break even on installation costs, even assuming zero maintenance costs. It seems pretty clear that it will far exceed the lifespan of a solar installation though.

Ouch.

On the other hand, if you want to fiddle at it and tend it all day you really can get useful quantities of power for some purposes using portable "camping" hardware or smaller semi-permanent installations.
