Sunday, I cleaned and straightened up the kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room. I finally got around to putting a little shine on my living/dining room floor using Quick Shine. It causes a sheen, rather than a highly polished look when using one coat. I have the original vinyl tile floors that were here when I moved in going on 54 years ago and they still look pretty decent. I was a little tired when I got finished. Good thing I didn't have to cook today.

All this cleaning was because my Honorary Son #3 came over for a lesson on music production and to see what my instrument is capable of. One of the songs I played for him was what I wrote for my son when he was a little boy. I want a "rap" for the bridge of the song and being a poet, HS#3 is perfect for that. HS#2, who I originally wanted, dropped the ball so he's been "fired". I also wanted HS#3 to hear all types of music (mine and by others), so we listened to a few genres and wound up dancing to one with an infectious beat (at my urging, cause he claimed he has two left feet).

He and my son bonded more, remarking that blaming HS#3 for knocking hard on the door (which my son did when they both got here at the same time) was just like real siblings do. I said yes, the older brother blaming the younger one. Also, HS#3 got more production tips from my son. It was a fun, enlightening evening. Icing on the cake... I got to see my Honorary Daughter, who stopped by to pick up something. I played the MP3 of the track HS#3 and I are collaborating on. She loved it and we haven't even mixed it yet. Got my two hugs from her, 2 from HS#3 and of course, from my son. I love it ! These young-uns are helping to keep me young! 😀

Before my wife's heart surgery we were out at various functions most weekends and often, during the week too. The Vintage Nostalgia Festival where we spent an enjoyable Saturday, is a four day event and four days is what we were up for, in the past. Nowadays the lady's health is far more important, that's why we only went for the Saturday.

This coming weekend, Friday 6th to Sunday 8th, at The Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth a Jump, Jive & Boogie weekend would have had us on the dance floor for the entire weekend. We will be there, but like the Nostalgia Festival, only for a day.

These events gets my lady out of the house, engaging with friends, it's good therapy. Right now I am deliberating on the Shake & Stir festival on June 28th & 29th. Have to think about that. We have other outings in the month and one in particular won't be easy.

One of my wife's former ambulance colleagues didn't survive the stroke he had, his funeral will be next week. Such a lovely fellow, he helped us move in here all those years ago. The dreadful aspect of surviving old age is to remember the loved ones in your life who have left early. It's hard to deal with.

It's almost noon... we're getting sun and cloud...temps are at around 66 deg... the neighour across the way is having more work done to her house. I think she's addicted to the workmen. She moved in 4 years ago, and there hasn't been one week that she's not had workmen there doing some kind of job....

Kids have gone back to school today... so I'm hoping this week will be sunny and I might take a trip down to the coast...

We have gotten a bit of rain here in Arizona!!! I have absolutely no idea how much…but do know it rained off and on several times last night. This is a big big deal. I have no idea what I am doing today. I am by myself for a couple days….so have some choices. Should pack up and drive south to work on project house…cutting and placing tile baseboards. Man….things have gotten ridiculously expensive to buy …need to use up stuff.

Good morning aLL folks....it is beautiful outside, 69F and
going into 90's already today, no rain exp today here....saw some cool deer last eve across the street in empty field, they
have been scarce lately, also a red fox, and nite before last had
a coyote come up my driveway....so the wildlife is back in action.
Feel much better ref aches n pains, dealing with them, dunnno
if I will call doc's or not.....need to call my barberess to stop by
this week.....got some dishes to do but oh well...have a great
day peeps!!! ;):love::cool::coffee::devilish:

I had to contact Walmart for a damaged item and they gave me a credit instead of returning it. I have 5 items from Amazon coming today and they are usually good with deliveries. I wish I could stop ordering but cannot get out to do shopping like that myself.

Sounds like most of you are having a good day.

@hollydolly, sad news but I am thinking of you and wish you lots of love. :)

Good morning all, my early morning walk at 6:50 walked to the signal light at end of the driveway and back before breakfast, a bit cool at 48 the sun was out
I had my annual eye appt at 9am,a 25 min walk. My doctor was very pleased with my eyes, nothing has changed since last yr. I stopped by the local co op{am a member} on my way back home
The rest of my day, read NYT times, my book, take afternoon stroll after my nap
I've invited my Tudor PLaza friends, Don& his partner Dave for dinner tonight at 5:30 in dining room. I talk to Don 2 -3 times/month to learn what's happening at the apt complex. All I can say,I'm glad I'm not living there anymore. I look forward to seeing them as always, highlight of my day

I had to give up on digging bulbs because it just got too warm. As I've been saying, tomorrow is another day. I'll be glad when the front is done. The back only has to be thinned so won't be as much work. Later this afternoon when the lawn is in shade, I'll give it a haircut.

This week I might be turning on the a/c. I prefer real air, but there comes a time...

Today started w a nice soak during false dawn, it was breezy and about 48°F. The aspens and spruces were swaying pleasantly, coffee was inhaled.

Now prepping for my sisters arrival tomorrow at Idaho Falls. We're heading from the airport , directly to Yellowstone for a couple nights. Staying in a hotel at the NW entrance - my sister has a couple nicknames "priceless" being one( memba the old mastercard commercials?) and precious being the other so camping was completely out of the question,

Hoping to show her some bears and wolves, our "secret spots" and I guess a few tourist sites like Old Faithful, etc.

This Monday morning feeling yuk after the 2 afternoons of outdoor street live music. Got plenty of freestyle street dancing in both days and can now state at the one month point after surgery, that I am now well healed with all that in the past. Great to no longer constantly be dealing with an old man's hernia truss at my belt line. But ran out of energy about 6pm so didn't have the staying power to last the full day.

At least unlike during my working years can endure this yukky feeling day quietly resting at home. 9:11am now and will mic a can of Progresso, Chicken Vegetable Rice soup. So will have 5 quiet weekdays at home to gain weekend strength again. After a top of engine power steam clean tomorrow, might bring my old Forester in to the Subaru dealer for an expensive high level tune-up. My new HP desktop is due by Friday.

Every weekend into the next month has street fairs with music. Next weekend June 7,8 is 77 miles north I've never visited in the past with a particularly rowdy 2-day listing of rock groups both cover bands and original music types.

Thank you HR....this is the awfulness of it.... this is what I've been saying all day.... just so sad...

I've had to spend a large chunk of this afternoon, on the phone to various businesses cancelling accounts, paying off accounts..changing phone numbers and personal details... it's a gut wrench...

Hoping you'll be able to put this behind you asap. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Got the car back after they had it all day.

Oil and filter: $75.00, new battery (well, it's been 7 years) $125.00, new wipers (all 3) $30.00, brake fluid flush and fill, etc. etc. lots of things that add up over time.

They did find the fault in the emissions system, and it was a broken sensor contact at the fuel pump. In the end they replaced the fuel pump for no charge (not even labor) since it was something that a prior recall was supposed to have addressed. Seems two years ago they had put an original fuel pump on and not the corrected one. Wah-waahhh.

$850 by the time it was totaled up. But I haven't really put a cent into the car besides oil changes, fuel, and washing in 7 years.

The guy pushed my credit card back and asked for a debit card. Seems they are charging 3% for CCs now. First I have encountered this.

Visiting my younger daughter's family camping at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina

Left: My children's $40K travel trailer looks embarrasingly tiny between their neighbors. --- When my 6 y/o grandson
zips by on his battery operate bicycle, then I get nervous and out of his way. --- My wife is standing in front of her new
car. We used to share driving, but she doesn't let me drive her new car. Well, let's see when the novelty wears off.
Right: Father and son on a mini vacation.

All very sad !!
Be strong.

Mine was not so rocky, there wasn't any infidelity or anything involved. But it took me a very long time to recover and the first year was rough. It didn't help that early on I saw The Shawshank Redemption for the first time. It sort of felt like being unjustly imprisoned along with the loss.
