There is supposed to be a 'Super moon' again tonight, but here is a bit of cloud obscuring it. Last night the moon appeared huge and in the farms, harvesting continued well into the night with the harvesters equipped with powerful lights. It's usually very quiet here at night, but at harvest time, the air is full of noise from the grain dryers, tractors an combine harvesters. Fortunately this house is pretty well sound proof.

home from a full day of work, visiting patients... ah the joys of visiting patients in the country...

Newly scraped "dirt" roads (red Georgia Clay mostly), with clumps getting slung up in my wheel wells (and I was in 3rd gear)... Wending my way down 1/2 mile of sand "road" that is really only wide enough for a 4x4-- palmetto palm fronds and scrub oak scraping the sides of my car.... Trying to find a home where the GPS *insists* "you've reached your destination" and it's a stand of pines =P

But I helped people be comfortable and supported tired caregivers, so it's all worth it! =D

Well my broken molar modest toothache per earlier post today, came back. So realizing the inevitable of having the tooth extracted, began phoning up my dental insurance provider for the first time ever, who advised me of the process to assign one of their website listed dentists. After phoning 4 offices with only call back robots answering, not only did I get a human, Rossiland, but she set me up with a quick 8am tomorrow Wednesday appointment. So just need to endure a few more Ibuprofen aching periods.

How lucky are we modern humans. A few hundred years ago it would have been utter torture with a bottle of whiskey and someone's crude metal pliers.

I Swiffered the floors, dusted, scooped the litter box twice and continued straightening up before the inspector came. She got here with Renee, our managing agent, about 10. All she wanted to do was check that the proper unit was installed and working. A few months ago, we had to install the new 10 year, dual (fire and carbon monoxide) monitors. This was technically the second inspection by her department, but really the third because during the first we hadn't installed it. Renee came back two days after my son installed the correct unit, but no inspector was with her.

This young lady, who took over for the last inspector, had received a violation list that wasn't updated by the young man who came before her and was obligated to check all the apartments on that list, according to Renee. Getting violation notices, when I was not in violation, was an annoyance. In addition I was confused because the violation notice from management said "bedroom" when in fact, detectors have always been in the hallway, which is midway between the kitchen and bedrooms. I verified with the new inspector that its placement in the hallway is fine.

We don't quite have those problems in this part of Scotland, but on the western and northern islands, the GP, midwife and some teachers, do their rounds by air. I think some doctors work for some months there to gain broad experience of rural and community work. Everything from routine check up to minor surgery. For serious cases, it would be the air ambulance, usually to Glasgow or Aberdeen.

Not so long ago, an air ambulance helicopter landed just behind my house. It was the most exciting thing that happened in the village for years.

We're not quite That rural... :D but when Prince William was a pilot for the Air Ambulance, he flew directly over my house at least once a week

On my early walk at 6:30 I walked twice around the building complex, wearing my yellow reflector vest because it was still a tad dark, out sun hadn't risen yet
I've invited a church friend, Joan to come see my apt& then we'll have lunch together at 12:15, look forward to seeing her
The rest of my day, take my afternoon walk, read NYT, after dinner tackle the daily NYT puzzle ,read my book

It's another beautiful day!

I've given up on my "done list" because, well.....there's nothing on it!

I'm blaming it on the pollen. It's so bad this year that I'm constantly feeling like I'm walking through a fog and my head is full of cobwebs. All I really want to do is lay around. Before you know it, another day is gone!

The things that I want to get down around the house keep getting more and more backed up. So, I've had to change my "plan of attack". I've looked around at all of the things that I want to do, prioritised, and picked ONE thing to accomplish. Today, I'm going to thaw out the chest freezer!!! After that....who knows?????

Glorious sunny warm day. I'm not long back from having my nails done, and picking up a new clothes airer from the store that I bought online
IMG-6078.jpg

I took a big bag of donations for the charity shop but the car park nearest was all closed off for some reason so it was too heavy for me to carry through town from where I ended up parking , so I'll drop it off another day.

After I had my nails done I went to the pub and had lunch... then to the supermarket to pick up the airer and buy a few things I didn't really need...lol...

Not expecting too awfully much achievement today. I'm now in my third day of a bout of Covid. DW came down with it one day before. She suspects she picked it up while on one leg of a ferry between the BC mainland and Vancouver Island, last week.

Covid's no fun, of course. My first night with it was heavy head congestion, making it hard to breathe. The day was pretty low energy. Second night was better, with more of a runny nose but still an ache in the back of my neck... and I slept 10 hours. After waking, my energy seemed better to me. Last night slept my usual 71/2 hours and woke up feeling my energy was even better, but some effect to my vocal cords and coughing a little too frequently... nose not so runny, neck ache gone.

Today I'll probably just do house work like dish washing, folding some of the laundry. Maybe cooking something for supper. Maybe a nap along the way.

just take it easy, give yourself time to recover, housework can wait...

@JBR, I hope you're both feeling better soon. As Holly said, take it easy. Chores can wait.

This morning I emptied the produce and other bits and bobs from the fridge and wiped down the shelves. After finishing breakfast, I'll figure out what to keep as is, what to pitch, what to meal-prep for the next couple of days, and what to prep for freezing.

(A mason jar filled with pickled slices of jalapeno peppers? Good grief! How did that even get into the fridge? No matter. I dumped the contents, washed the jar & lid, and stashed those for future use. Which won't include pickled jalapeno peppers, I assure you!)

Our car is due for the license plate renewal....I got an email yesterday, with a PIN number. So I called the local garage this morning, and they fitted me in for an inspection...in and out in 15 minutes. Then I completed the process, online, in another 15 minutes....should get the new sticker in a few days. This sure beats driving another 25 miles to/from the nearest DMV, and waiting for a half hour...or more.

Off to a bad start this morning,,, backing the car out of our garage & broke off the driver's side mirror,,,,$$Opps.

Hubby not happy with me,,, I'm not happy about it either.
I actually had a little fender bender at the grocery store. The person across from me in the next aisle was pulling out at the same time, a little ahead of me and we hit. Minor damage but had to wait for police for report and we were low on priority list. Two and a half hours all told.
Even though it's minor it sends my anxiety level way up. It will take days to shake it off.

as you say HR, even a little one does shake you up... I know what you mean... I hope there wasn't too much damage

I have on of those mason jars of pickled jalepenos! 😊 Hate to waste them so we spend time pickling them....then waste them!
