Going out for lunch and helping a friend load a bunch of stuff for the thrift store. It’s going to be 50 so walking the dogs will occur this afternoon.
What is an amber area?wet day here, plus the storm is brewing,,i live in an amber area,,,,its strong winds at moment,a few things flying around the garden,,gonna be a long night
The Met office issue bad weather warnings for affected areas of the UK which they grade according to their scariness. Yellow is bad weather. Amber is very bad weather and Red is Beware, the end is nigh. They are often worst case scenarios. What is an amber area?

get rain changing to ice/snow late tonite...booooo...enuff...catch more later.....![]()
thank you JBR..SkyNews site for today shows a map, and London appears to be between Yellow and Light Yellow warning. So I hope that proves to be true for where you live, Holly. Wishing you the best.![]()
Stay safe holly. Sounds like you've covered your bases. I just realized that's a US baseball term. Do you use it there to say you've done all your prep work?thanks Star...I've already prepared the barn as best as I can.
It leaks during torrential rain and snow... so I've covered everything inside as best as I can with Tarps... and put a big bowl down to catch any water . My fences are protected by heavy shrubs and hedging so hopefully they won't fall down
I've ensured all doors and windows are locked..all garden furniture is weighted down. I've closed all the blinds in the house in the event of window damage ..that's about as much as I can do
Our weather has been markedly different the last 3 or 4 years...high temps in Summer more than very... and damaging storms regularly in winter....more than ever before..I keep telling myself "It's January, we get through it every year."
I say that in July too!
Thanks Hearlady....yes we do use that phrase among many others.. Batten down hatches...Ducks in a row....clear the decks , Get into Gear ..etc...Stay safe holly. Sounds like you've covered your bases. I just realized that's a US baseball term. Do you use it there to say you've done all your prep work?
