Just got home from the eye doctor - just a checkup. No need for distance glasses, readers only and he changed my prescription.

He also checked for glaucoma and macular degeneration. I'm clear on all counts and my eyes appear very healthy. Very minor cataract in the left eye. (I had a weird type of cataract in my right eye that needed surgery 6 years ago.) $75 for this.

Kaiser, my healthcare provider, would do give me a free eye checkup, but I have a lot of confidence in Dr. K so it's worth it to pay for his services.

I had a wonderful GF lunch that lasted a bit over two hours yesterday. We've set a date to meet again next month and hope to have a standing monthly lunch. ❤️

That start time would be a great hardship for many of us!
And we wouldn't do the best job at that hour, either. The needed stamina and concentration, etc.
I wonder what the age is, that a person could easily opt out.
In Canada, you can opt out of jury duty as follows:
The Jury Act provides examples of potential grounds for exemption such as: over age 65, hardship, religion, and language barriers. However, individuals may request an exemption for any number of reasons.

@Bob4now and @RadishRose Those are called nose prints (whether they come for four-legged or two-legged carbon-based units:ROFLMAO: Nose prints.

When I was a cleaning fairy in another life, I spent a lot of time cleaning nose prints off windows and sliding doors.
Cleaning fairy!?!? There’s an idea, since “Hey Google clean the sliders” just ain’t workin!

Grandson is here, his folks went out for anniversary dinner. I cooked the lasagna and the brownies but I can't get him to eat yet. Poor little guy is coughing his head off.

I have him in the front living area and I am the next room, the den. What ever he has I do not want for sure. They did not even warn me he was sick. When they get back I will ask them if he has been to the doctor. If not, I think he needs to go tomorrow. He does not have a fever but I think he has an respiratory infection.

I probably shouldn't be allowed to have days off anymore. Yanno what I did today? One load of laundry. Did I blue my hair? Nope. Did I change the batteries in the solar lights? Nope. Can't really say I "cooked" the pork loin because all that has to be done is to put it in a pan, then the oven for 45 minutes, so it doesn't really count.

Mostly, I sat around on my dead center. What on earth would I do with myself if I didn't work five days a week?

Just read in the news that Amazon uk is adding £2.99 per month to Prime Video viewers to block adverts..

I don't need to watch Prime Video enough to warrant that extra payment so I won't be paying... do you Non Brits have to pay extra to block ads on prime Video ?

I don’t know if there is a blanket Block All Ads feature. I can watch some shows without ads and some come with ads (watch with ads as opposed to stream with an additional service that charges monthly )

I peddled this morning for a half an hour while on the phone with my BFF. She's really keeping me motivated to get my exercise in. I made corn chowder for lunch. I had been meaning to do it for weeks anyway, but yesterday I inadvertently opened a can of potato soup (had reached for the tomato soup). I stuck the can in the fridge, so made sure I used it today.

I loaded the dishwasher, but won't run it until tomorrow morning. We did a brief stint in the studio this afternoon so my son could get my music clips done, this time with my input. I enjoyed watching and participating in the process he goes through to get them fused just right. I posted them in this thread earlier.
Four More Music Clips Of Songs For My Next Album

It's morning and going to be a perfectly lovely day with sunshine and the thermometer pushing 70. Yay.

Sir is off today so NL and I will be scrambling to get everything done. I hope to last the whole six hours, but if not, I'm really only scheduled until 10 so can boogie if I feel like it.

Y'all behave until I get back. Oh, wait. That doesn't mean y'all can misbehave when I get back...

I signed up for it. Since I started watching YouTube premium with no ads I enjoy it more. So for $2.99 it is worth it for me on Amazon Prime video too. I used to mute the ads now I can just watch the video nonstop.

Grocery shopping and trying to get a prescription.
Fossamax is on backorder. I may have to transfer the script if they don't get it in today.

Any recommendations on instant coffee?
I had a cup of Nescafe that was in my cabinet. It's best buy date was 2020. It was good! It was getting late afternoon so I didn't want brewed coffee and not in the mood for tea. I just wondered what brands others liked. I'm going to buy some fresh.

I have rather good news. No return of lung cancer after five years. I thought the news would be good as I took CT scan two weeks ago and just came back from doctor. If something had shown up, I would have been notified, so I felt pretty confident (tho not completely of course) before seeing doc. The five years went fast.
Wonderful news!

Non-Brit here…they raised it here too. Not gonna pay as I like the breaks. They remind me to get up and move. Especially if I’m binge watching a Brit crime show!

I've been a die hard Folgers decaf fan for decades.
