My daughter, granddaughters and I are at a condo on the coast. We ate fresh shrimp at an open-air, beach front eatery…

Then walked on the beach for a little bit til our condo was ready…. This is our view from our 3rd floor balcony

More pics later 😊
That looks so relaxing!

You know, even store (Ore Ida) frozen mashed potatoes are good. I was surprised. Not as good as homemade but decent in a pinch.
I may have missed the cream cheese in @Georgiagranny s mashed. I read sour cream. That's what sounded good to me. Cream cheese may cut be a bit heavy but I would try it.
I have some baby potatoes and I'm thinking of baking them pounding them down flat, topping with cheese, bacon bits, green onion, whatever and re-roasting them. I've seen it on YouTube. Looks good.
I have tasted ready made mashed potato. The 'fresh'' tastes ok..... but the frozen is Dire IMO....... GG said she puts Sour cream AND cream cheese in her mash...

My stepmother used to make mashed potato from granules.. *ugh* it was disgusting... but one of my sisters used to eat it dry out of the box ..like popcorn.. mind you, the same sister used to eat the dogs biscuits

My brother, John came home yesterday to attend his 50th high school reunion,he went to a private school. He wasn't; planning on doing this but his BFF/classmate ,Randy asked him to come to the reunion. There were 94 students in their class, he told me about 40 showed up
This morning John came to see my new apt was impressed how much better it is compared to my other one. The other reason why I'm glad he came, he finally met my close friends, Marcia&Dave, we went out to breakfast together, great time together. His flight back to NYC left at 1pm
It made my day
How nice. I hope you two can get together again soon.

I've been working on our annual crop of garlic. We have so much.
Red Chesnock, Inchellium, Labera Purple, Transylvanian, and regular ole garlic like the store.

When it starts to get old, and before the next crop is ready, I do different things with what hasn't been gifted to friends and family.
I peel a bunch and put in jars in oil, then refrigerate. I have two big jars.

Some of the ones that are further along I peel and put in a jar without oil to use quickly.

This year, for the first time, I dried some and ground it into garlic powder.
It's true what they say, so much better than store bought!
Anyway, I probably smell like a pizza about now. 😊 🍕

I didn't get anything done today. My youngest grandson and his mom (my honorary daughter) were here this morning. My grandson came to do his laundry downstairs. My son told him that it costs half of what laundromats cost. After they left, I took a nap. I woke up when my BFF called. After our conversation I watched TV. I also spend a good amount of time catching up on a few threads here.

It's not likely that Sir will have rounded up anything yesterday from the bakery pallet in the freezer for me to use. That's fine. I'll be alone today so won't have to bite my tongue.

It's gonna be hot today, and the humidity is supposed to ratchet back up. Darn. It's been nice for the past two days with humidity in the 30% range.

Morning folks !!! It is very wet out there, apparently a storm
passed by while I was sleeping, lots of rain seems like, no big
plans for the day, finished all the laundry, still got some
dishes to do this morning as that other guy, the dish dwarf,
didn't come by....on first cuppa :coffee: so not sure what I'm up to
today....love you all.....!!!!;):love::devilish:

It's overcast today , quite breezy and quite chilly tbh.. at just 61 F.. altho' its fine for me , I like it, and I have the windows open...

In about 20 minutes the people are coming to pick up the Microwave oven...they're coming from the next village...

No plans for today except to gather some more clothes for donation... for the charity.... it's 12.40pm now, after the people have been I might go to the supermarket for a couple of things.

I bought Milk from M&S last week, dated 14th June, and I've just gone to use it and it's like Curd cheese.. completely gone off... I've bought milk in every shop you can think of in all my years but I've never had milk go bad.. this is the first time..

They sent an old man to get the microwave..I thought he was going to collapse while carrying it.. it's heavy.. but altho' he was a big guy he was about 75 and really out of shape... Anyway he got it to his car after almost dropping it on the kerb.. I had to go out and help him...

Terrible day. Cold, strong winds and frequent showers. Hope things improve as we're off for a few days in the camper. At least we can stay dry and warm in it.

DD has just returned from Dublin where she was speaking at a book launch. As she put it, it's only an hour flight, we get a nice meal in the evening and stay in a posh hotel. However, here favourite bit was where she discovered that Lidl sold a large range of Irish bread that she can't get at home, so she stuffed her cabin bag with bread - having checked that it was permitted. She was also intrigued by the artefacts in a museum. They had been found preserved in peat bogs and included a wooden boat and various gold objects.

I plan to watch a couple good movies today...woke up feeling pretty good this morning..:)
While mowing yesterday I ran over something in the tall grass that completely shut down my mower, I just left it and walked to the house, so there's that to deal with some time today...😖

It's a lovely day in the neighborhood, but the weathernerds didn't lie about the humidity going back up. Darn. How come they couldn't be wrong again? Our high temp today is going be pushing 90. Combined with the humidity, it's gonna be unpleasant at best. Glad I got the A/C cleaned up and ready to operate. So far I've just had it on fan only.

Will wonders never cease! I'd left a note for Sir yesterday listing all the products I needed and how long we'd been out of them. I really didn't think he'd bother unloading the pallet, but he did at least get all the things I needed for this morning.

Since I get paid the same whether I work fast or slow, I worked slow. Unless something disastrous happens, my last day is going to be July 6. I'm gonna keep my lip zipped:censored: for a couple more weeks though, because I don't want anybody to have an excuse to cut my hours. I just want those five more paychecks to beef up my EF💰

Yanno, when I worked in Germany, the chairman gave each new C-suite employee a Mickey Mouse watch on their first day with the message that if we checked the time and weren't having fun, it was time to look for a new job. (That was 40 years ago when people still wore watches.) Well. I'm not having fun anymore, but I'm not going to look for a new job; I'm just gonna say buh-byeeee. It's definitely time because I'm getting crankier and more out of sorts by the day. I want to leave on good terms.

Okay, then. Time to water the flowers and spray fungicide on the roses and hydrangeas. Also gonna treat some of the plants with Critter Ridder. The bunnies🐇 have been dining on the blooms on some of them.

Oh! Meant to tell y'all that Ms. Doe was back again yesterday. Yup. I just know she's got a baby snuggled up under the brush in the side yard.

Just got back from the supermarket. I went to the nearest one which is in the next town. I hate it because the shelves are always mostly empty, the variety of food is dreadful.. and all in all it's kinda grubby ( Morrisons) .. I haven't been there for a very long time because of that, but because I really only wanted milk and a few things, I went there for quickness. Of course they had no grapes.. and no blue cheese... *sigh*.... and as always half the shelves were empty...I really hate that store..

I did call M&S about the milk. What a faff, they kept me on hold for 10 minutes, then they wanted me to photograph the receipt, and the bottle of milk.. I told them I'd thrown the milk away and I didn't have my receipt after several days... who does ? but they insisted I photograph the bottle... so I had to get it out of the recycle . Then they wanted to know the ins and outs of a ducks Arse.. before they would give me a refund. I told them I have no intention of giving all this information for £1.45 refund.. I just wanted them to know that the milk with that date was rancid ( 14th June)

We came back from our morning walk & my neighbor stopped us to ask for help with her grass & tree watering system. She said she turned off the timer but it still runs.

An easy problem to solve, shut off the water at the curb. She has Rainbird valves so only a phillips head screwdriver was needed. As I suspected hard water had built up lime scale holding the valve open. Good news for her Rainbird has replacement parts but there is a trick I discovered long ago. To buy valve replacement parts it's about $65.00 from Rainbird & it takes time for shipping. BUT if you buy the valve from Home Depot For about $35.00 & pick it up same day I will have her system back to normal today. Just need to use the parts needed from the new valve.
Rain Bird 1 in. FPT Professional Grade Anti-Siphon Irrigation Valve with Flow Control DASASVF100 - The Home Depot

She is going to church so when she gets home we'll go buy the valve. She is a widow on limited income so helping her avoid a plumbers fee is my good deed for today.

Well. I'm not having fun anymore, but I'm not going to look for a new job; I'm just gonna say buh-byeeee. It's definitely time because I'm getting crankier and more out of sorts by the day. I want to leave on good terms.
Seems like your time has come. Best wishes on your upcoming retirement, well deserved! And..........you'll spend more time with us! ❤️

Sunny but cool and breezy 69 F at noon. Humidity way down. Great day to be out working on the lawn or even getting out and about on a road trip. Not entirely sure yet how to spend the rest of this Sunday. Too busy at the u-pick farms for strawberries, but tomorrow should be great.

We were out & about most of Saturday.
Community yard didn't have any good bargains,,mostly clothing.
Went to Mayville , N.Y. & flea market at an old air field.

Spend some time looking.
Did see a piece of furniture that is similar to one we have, priced at $135.

This morning our friend who cuts my hair stopped back in.
Again she left her husband at the 'Legion.

With her husband's poor health,, she needs time to talk.
Turns out her son & his pregnant wife, are talking about moving back in with them.
Cost of living is one of the main reasons.

Couldn't really give her any advise about that.
