Morning all folks!!! Got the med shakes bad this a.m., but oh
well,.....sunny and mild out now, don't expect any rain, but
got a haze from wildfires all over the country....saw a firetruck
pull up out front last eve, I know I did NOT fall so why? Welp
turns out the falling tree limb took down a utility line of some
sort, and someone hit it with their vhicle and call authorities
about it....I think it was a no longer used at&t line, so they\
cut the line down and that was it....dunno if landlord going
to clean up the mess or not, i emailed him about it....no plans
for the day, 'cept i am taking my 3rd cuppa on the front porch
and promise I won't fall! !!!;):whistle::whistle::giggle::devilish:

@hearlady No birds? Maybe it's fixing to rain.

We aren't supposed to get any rain today so it's out to the garden with me. When it gets too warm, those fridge shelves and the freezer await.

Beyond those things, there's nothing on the agenda. Yet.
No, I believe that it's such a beautiful morning that they are just chilling. They're there but the crows are not fighting off the hawk, the mocking bird has paused his mocking, and the wrens are in the bushes finding bugs.
Nice breeze.

I cut green onions, lemon thyme, German thyme, sage, stevia, and Thai basil flowers to dry.
Dead headed and staked the zinnias. Some are coming up in the grass so I trimmed the grass around them and left them.
They are so thick and pretty. Wal-Mart's trellises came up clearance so bought three sets of four connected short ones.
They have reined in those zinnias!

@hawkdon You could put the green onions in a salad. Do critters even like onions?

Got tired of weeding and deadheading.

I just got started on the fridge shelves and need a second, or maybe twenty, opinion(s) about that bottle of stir fry sauce dated 92/11/07. Keep? What's it doing there, and how did it get there? I didn't move here until 2009:rolleyes:

I've got a bunch of green onions in the fridge, have no
idea what I bought them for???? Don't know what to do
with them, maybe feed them to the critters?!?!
Wash them, take off the bad stuff, and dry them. Slice them and put in a glass jar.
Then use them on anything. Salad, soup, whatever. They'll last a good while.

Cream cheese and green onion sandwich???

I always forget Americans write the date backwards, so I have to take a minute to try and decipher the date....

I'm presuming it means the 7th of November 1992:unsure:

You must have made a stir fry .....long, long ago.......😄

It had to happen. Christmas is still five months away, and I just saw an online article for holiday recipes. It's mostly click bait, though. AFAIK, brownies, shepherd's pie, quiche, aren't "holiday" recipes. Geez, they couldn't even wait until Hallowe'en.

I bought the ingredients to make an apple caramel dump cake for our family dinner in August.
Sounds to me like an "I'm ready for fall but I know it's not quite here" recipe. Late summer.
What do I need to put on my list for this? Sounds like just what I need.

Tomorrow I'm making chicken pot pie for supper. Cold-weather comfort food. I'm just gonna pretend it's cold outside. We'll eat it at DD's table, and she keeps her A/C...um...chilly.

In total shock over this mornings AccessARide experience. Can't speak yet. Can't speak. When I can, I will. Will reprint complaint I am making. In shock. Never came close to a heart attack or stroke until today. I may never stop shaking.

Bear with me. Thank you for listening.

Caramel Apple Cobbler Dump Cake - Instrupix

Looks pretty easy too. I found the caramel bits in Walmart.
Mmm Chicken Pot Pie!

Another help a neighbor day. Why he didn't ask for help before I don't know. Seems his wife almost fell when the toilet tilted off to one side. Good thing they have two bathrooms. Obviously the toilet rocking has gone on for awhile.

He is clueless so to help him he does the work I watch.

1st. We [he] shut off the water, flushed then drained the tank. Turned off the water to the tank fill line, then diconnected that line. Last step was for him to unscrew the toilet hold down bolts. One unscrewed the other had broken thru the flange.

Measured the flange to get the right size replacement. Stuffed a rag in the pipe to stop sewer gas odors & any debris from falling into the opening. Now came the hard part. The flange was anchored in cement with the drain coming up thru the flange. Took about 1/2 hour to remove and make sure the surface was smooth & ready for the replacement.

With a picture on his camera & the measurements he is off to Home depot to get a flange, wax ring, toliet hold down bolts & cement lag screws to anchor the new flange. I have drill bits for cement & drill so later today or tomorrow we'll finish this DIY project.

@hearlady I think what I'm gonna do is buy a Jiffy or Krusteaz white or yellow cake mix and one can of apple pie filling to make the dump cake smaller. If there's a whole 9x13 dump cake, my crew will indulge way too much. I'll feel guilty if they're encouraged to eat too many sweets, given their, um, sizes (large!).

I've been watching HGTV this afternoon. Why is it that the men all insist on having a man cave where they can go to be alone? Gotta have a big man cave for their pool tables, giant TVs and such. They say they want a place to retreat to when they get home from work and just chill. What about the women? They don't get "woman" caves where they can go to be alone and just chill. What's wrong with this picture?

I have a woman cave... it's my Barn... but of course now..I have a whole house as well as my woman cave..to myself...:D

It just occurred to me that in recent years women have discovered she sheds. Now, I'd love ❤️ to have a she shed! It would have a screened porch for Maggiecat.
I was going to say that we can have a she shed!
The half size dump cake is a good idea! I'm using a homemade cake mix with less sugar. Hopefully they won't notice. 🤔

Used one cup sugar instead of 1 1/4

..I;m not a girly girl.. no knitting or crafts for me in my Shed...:D

I'd have a comfy chair or a chaise longue or both, lots of books, some plants, a coffee station...and, of course, electricity and running water (including a flush toilet!). I'd want a little fridge and maybe a nuke box but no stove unless maybe a little potbelly stove for heat in winter. I'd have Maggiecat for therapy and she'd have her screened porch so she could watch the birds and squirrels.
